I wish I had checked beforehand, but I just put the T-6 on, and I couldn’t be happier. I pulled the plug out of the top of the airbox and ripped the foam off the back side of the number plate, but I didn’t actually cut the airbox. My bike ran good enough to collect $250 in contingency in my first race on it! Kaw is paying great this year! Get the right spring rates in it, add more fork oil, and I bet you won’t even need a revalve. I’m not planning to revalve mine now.
I also already removed the foam and grommet. Hoping someone can chime in on if the stock exhaust is close to the PC after modifying. That will determine how long I hold off on getting the PC. I’ll be getting back into the swing of things over the next few months so it’s not a necessity at this moment. Going to do a 3D cage and twin air filters. I don’t feel the Powerflow is worth it at the price. Will see after I live with this setup for a while. Will probably just do springs like I did on my ‘21 as well.
The stock valving in the forks on the '24 is way better than the previous generation. My '19 front end was real divey (no idea if I spelled that right) until I revalved it. The '24 is way more balanced. As for the exhaust, I would try modifying it first if I were you and if you aren't happy with the results, buy a T-6 slip on. My bike absolutely rips now. I need no more power than I have now, and I'm a big boy at 6'3" 215lbs.
I have the fmf slip on, But I did pull out the screens and baffles out of the stock muffler and tried them back to back. Honestly had I did that first I probably wouldn’t have got a muffler. It’s good opened up, I do also have the twin air power flow kit on and I actually trimmed up the air box for more air. But I didn’t cut holes in the side panel/cover. I’d say give it a try before you buy. It makes a big difference even with the stock muffler.
The Shop
I’ve installed full PC T6.. pulled air box grommet and remapped the efi using the Chaz map, this really uncorks the bike. It rips now! Rode em back to back, it’s a whole different animal now
The stock muffler is super restrictive to meet the upcoming 2025 European noise standards
Can you post a shot of that map you’re using? Is it the “Chaz” map, or the “Chavez” map?
My dealership has them $500 less then I paid a month ago at $7398 right now..
wonder if they would price match at this point?? 🤔
I wish somehow they could do like a post purchase rebate. I paid $10K even, out the door back in early February and sadly haven't even been able to throw a leg over it yet. Funny part about it is, my dealer even told me "if you could hold off for a little bit longer, Kawasaki will have more rebates further into the spring". But, I was just too impatient lol.
I mean they could but why the hell would they. People being impatient and wanting it right away is why you pay a premium. The rebates come at the same time every year it’s not like they are a surprise.
Despite assumption.. Pretty familiar how Kawis rebates work and when they drop, bought numerous new bikes under rebates
Never paid a premium, was happy paying $7998 plus tax and $99 doc fee with $2400 rebate from dealership when everybody else paid a premium, then members here tried to dispute my purchase after showing the bill of sale it instantly silenced them
My post was about the same dealership who has them for $7398 right now.. whatever reason they throw another $1000 rebate on top of any Kawasaki rebates, hence my satire price match post..😁
Frankly thats what I paid for my 2020 KX 450 from same dealership back in April 2020, till buying a 2024 on 3/23/24
spent some of the $2400 I saved over full MSRP on PC T-6 exhaust and some killer graphics from Decal works, skid plate, rear disc brake cover, then bought 3 pre oiled air filters from DT-1 since they provide rider support to me … smart huh? Without paying those premium prices.. you get a truck load of goodies on the money you saved.. in my book that’s a double win.. 🤔
Yea I was responding to rgIII dude.
Obviously..? 🙄
Yes, me, RGIII, Mr. Impatient Wasn't complaining. I am completely happy with the purchase. Can't wait to get back home and give it a go!!
Sorry my response was to Mr Ass umption who writes and cashes everybody’s checkbook not knowing the circumstances 🤦♂️
No worries. It’s all good. I didn’t mean to rub anyone the wrong way. I was just joining the conversation honestly.
You’re good bro.. certainly Soggy ass clown don’t even own a 24 let alone any KX model? Cause you can’t find any trace of either on all his negative posts
I definitely felt the negativity flowing that’s for sure!! Haha
He must be the Jimmy Sloan of Vital MX page
Pit Row
Oh god not that guy.
I was just point out how silly it sounded for someone to wish they could get the rebate 3 months after they purchased the bike. Sorry you got all wadded up over it.
I’ve got a KX but it’s a smoker 🤙🏻
You’re a pole smoker..and bring no substance to this thread
don’t be a hater cause you can’t afford a new or newer one 🤡🤡
Thanks for the feedback. I just got done removing the baffle and screens. No wonder the power is underwhelming in stock form.
Thinking of picking one of these up any day. I currently have a 2022 kx 450 with x trigs raptor pegs full Hinson clutch and springs for my weight should most of this swap between the two? The bike is super cheap locally and if I can save some $ buying a 24 and swapping parts I’d like to stay green. If not I’ll probably have to get the yz the build quality is still lacking pretty poorly with the 22.
Thinking of picking up one also. Last kx450 I had was back in 2012! But I’ve always had a soft spot for green, spending most of my teenage years on the lil green screamers.
I see akrapovic just released their exhaust. They always look so good (to me anyway), and build quality is the best of any aftermarket exhaust. Has anyone tried the Yoshimura yet ? How does it compare to the pc? Would seem all the big KX needs is an exhaust and you can live happily ever after ?

I went from completely stock exhaust to stock with baffles removed to full PC Ti6. 90% of gains came from just removing the baffle and screens on the stock exhaust. Full PC did give a little more but I was actually a little disappointed. Bang for buck just stick with stock exhaust with baffles removed.
It’s that other 10% you’re leaving on the table, the full PC changes the power delivery since the stock almost missed the mark of it towards the mid range
plus you’ll easily gain 2-4 hp if you do all the mods together, pipe, muffler, freeier flow air filter, efi mapping, adding more fuel with efi mapping is a good thing
I'm not telling anyone not to buy an exhaust, by all means go for it. I'll just say for me the difference between stock with baffles removed and full PC was very minimal. So for anyone on a budget or not wanting every last bit out of the bike big gains can be had for little to no cost.
I did all the standard mods straight away and played around alot with mapping. Actually ended up back at stock mapping.

ML’s two-thirds of the way to answering your exact question. The Yosh review has some good comparisons with PC’s offerings (6 and 6-Pro).
PS: Would love to see another 2017 CRF450R-style exhaust round up from Vital: Take all that are available for the new Kawi 450, weigh them, dyno them, and also sound test them. Ride them with a panel of shootout riders for some follow-up notes as well. Really curious if anything aftermarket keeps the db’s down; historically Akro’s tend to be the quietest/most pleasant sounding for a majority of modern 4T’s…
Any word on when fmf will have a header available? will be interesting to see how that system stacks up
Do not need it bro, I pulled holeshot yesterday with stock muffler delete, Chaz map, airbox cage and top cover removed, and I weigh 1300 lbs dry, I did start in first gear which combined with my perfect shift timing rocketed me to the front like a cheeta going after it prey.
YOooooo! I finally broker my launch control button. Can i just remove this thing or will it short something out?
