Seems like he doesn’t have the same speed this year as it’s weird seeing him get gapped week after week!! He always seemed to have that bullet speed at the end of every race and could run people down during past few seasons!! Pull for the guy but he seems to be off the pace big time this year!!

Age and all these injuries have caught up with the guy. Sad to watch, but it is like it is. But according to his own words, he doesn't care anymore if he wins the race or will be fifth, he just enjoying racing. Those days are gone when he wanted to be lapped by himself.

I said it a few weeks ago, he’s not the rider he once was unfortunately. He’s raw speed isn’t there anymore.

It’s all in the head..

When you still can run the laptimes or being the fastest on track at the end off the moto’s it’s still there.

The starts have never been this bad, playing a bit more careful the first couple off laps in traffic cost him big time. This never been the case before.

When you can start with Febvre and gap him in 5 out off the 6 Dutch Master (other startcrash) you know his speed and pace is there. When he doesn’t get the start at MXGP he is in no time 15 sec behind.

Even Tomac said himself this year he doubted himself if he “still” got it and could win. Injuries played a part in that one to. I think Herlings is in the same boat. (Broken ribs)

The last of the early 2010s are on their way out. Herlings, Tomac, Kenny, DeanO, Bambam. There’s going to be a wave of guys retiring that just seemed like kids yesterday going pro, damn I’m getting old  😂😂

Seems odd ever since Ruben left he wasn’t been the same. Maybe there’s not that person holding him accountable during the week?

I don’t think Ruben got much to do with it. 2020 he was leading the championship until he got injured. 2021 he won the title!  Last year he got closer to Prado and being the fastest rider that year until another injury..

He is well known as a guy who puts in the work and be a savage.

This year he “looks” more lost then ever and who knows with Ruben still on his side things would be a bit better..

Well, he just did a bit of  number on the last lap - so much for not being good enough anymore.

Good to see - even better to see Febvre win the GP. The roaring from the crowd following him was pretty bloody impressive

Herlings seems to excel in extreme conditions it’s seems. He’s riding at my local track at a British Championship round this coming weekend, he should win both races.

Let’s see how he gets on at the notoriously one lined track at Teutschenthal, the site of where he’s had 2 massive crashes.

The bike doesn’t look settled at all for him when he tries to push. Moto 1 he went backwards and looked on the edge sketchy.

Herlings is one of the most talented riders ever. He just can’t stay healthy. Dude always comes back though. He is a tough man.

He had at the time I wrote that.

He got 'pinged'  for jumping(?) on yellow flags after the podium celebration, as we all know.

For the guy who have to be careful when he puts his gear on because If he's helmet accidentally drops on his leg, his season is over with several broken bones. Dunno. I think so far he's done pretty well for him this season IMO.

Seewer and Horgmo. Not Febvre.

I missed putting in 'others' in the brackets, that lead to him being 'pinged'.

That, like the SX Flag incident, shows things need to be a bit more professional in our Sport.

It's disappointing for all involved .

Dude, just last weekend in Spain, he charged from way back to almost win, he was the fastest guy on the track.  He needs to work on his starts and consistency, but his speed is still there.

I don't think it was him that got "pinged", but the others that did moved up Tim and gave him the needed points to win.

That warp speed run down the hill and then rail into the muddy/deep outside line and just hammer it....goosebumps.

Great pass on the last lap.

I think it’s similar to Tomac & in all honesty - any professional athlete not in their prime. Injuries and time off the circuit add up. If Herlings is going to reclaim his top speed it may take him all year. I wish him the best.
