Getting caught up on the racing and just watched the first 450 heat. Jett goes down in the first corner, and then they covered his entire race via split screen or the main broadcast. The drone followed him and nobody else. At one point they briefly showed Cianciarulo and Masterpol in what may have been a battle for ~5th, but we never really got see. They cut back to Tomac for the last two lanes, and then as soon as he took the checkers, they switched back to Jett.

It begs the question: has Mirtl or someone structured things so that they cover Jett regardless of where he is in a race? It certainly helps his “brand,” so there is incentive to do so. Or is the production team simply chock full of nut swingers?

I don't open any of the endless idiotic "Jett" threads anymore....but the title of this one drew me in because it's a valid observation.    Did anyone else notice Mirtl down on the track frothing from the mouth over Jett winning last week?   You could almost make out the jizz stain in his pants.     That tells you the answer to your question.

It's not just recently, it's been this way all year.     Over-saturation of never before seen levels in this sport.     It isn't going to get any better.

I see the Jett leg-humpers have made their way in here....you had to expect that.        Anything less than fawning means you're a Jett hater.

You’re just angry that your boy got spanked, again. Then they interviewed him and there were actual tears.

Advertisers are, yes. Business isn't about making as much profit this year as you did last year. Business is about growth. Following Jett more than anyone else makes sense because people may tune in to see Jett

Are you OK?

Imagine for one minute being forced to watch a race with the guy.

A frontal lobotomy would be tame in comparison.

He achieved a perfect season in last year's 450 motocross championship, something only done previously by James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael, but never by a rookie.

15 Races into his first 450 Supercross season, his results are better than legends of the sport...

We’re way past the stage when everyone was complaining about the focus on Jett. Most have had to swallow their pride and accept that the hype and attention are warranted.
It’s going to be a long difficult time for anyone who can’t accept the reality and appreciate it for what it is.

I dig this statement. Seems kinda right on.

All the pros and cons aside…

The coverage of Jett’s 1st Heat was an absolutely perfect video clinic of how to get up and get back in it.

He got up and got going quickly and the coverage…including the drone giving some excellent over-head tracking…showed a continuous view of someone riding with near perfect form, finding any possible line and using an “any means necessary” method to get from 20th (last) in the 1st turn to 4th…

In SIX minutes.

And ALL of it is available on video via the Peacock replay feature.

Watching Jett come through the pack was incredibly entertaining viewing. IMO It’s just a shame he comes off the track and is pissed. That had to be so much fun tearing through the pack like that. All the pressure and championship stuff really takes the fun out of racing.

Seems the nut swingers found their way in here, too. This isn’t an anti-Jett post. And it’s not that I haven’t been paying attention; quite the opposite, I’ve been watching this sport for 20ish years and don’t recall the coverage ever being this biased towards any rider, regardless of where they were at in the point hunt. That statement holds true even as compared to earlier in this season. I didn’t think it was possible to get any worse. Would they have followed Webb like that in a heat race as the only other guy really in cship contention? I don’t think anyone can honestly say yes.

Maybe my old man memory is failing, but as I recall things from the not-so-distant past, the coverage was largely focused on battles around the track (you know: racing) with periodic cuts to important riders in the championship like, like Jett, to update us on their progress. To ignore a field of 20 riders to just follow (and have the folks in the booth talk) about one is what seems really odd…and shitty.

So anyone that disagrees with your shit take about the interest in the points leader coming up through the pack is a nut swinger? Interesting..

Also according to your logic two guys following each other in 4th and 5th= racing and battles

One guy coming from dead last passing 15 riders in 6 minutes= no racing or battles..

For don’t opening any Jett threads anyone, you sure open a lot of them just to leave a post that you don’t…

People seem.to forget how much James got put on air regardless where he was, the least times they showed him when he was running up front gapping the field.

It's always been like this.

Good call. I genuinely think people don’t realise what they’re seeing. I could watch that kid ride around by himself. I taught myself how to ride properly by studying McGrath. This kid is 👌👌
