Maybe Sexton was injured during the off season and missed critical testing time with the new bike/team and he's been behind all season? He's been showing signs of his old self lately.
Maybe the old mechanic made a critical error last week that couldn't be overlooked. Have there been other issues and this was the final straw? Maybe KTM blamed it on a rock and quietly decided to move on?
I'm still holding out hope that Sexton and KTM are going to make this work. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.

From the outside looking in, recently it seems KTM doesn't really like when riders make their own decisions. Webb's suspension guy, Sextons long time mechanic. I'm sure they were waiting for a slip-up to get their guys wrenching on Chases bikes
