You didnt "Have" to you chose to.
The only thing i muted was Jett's podium interview. The broadcast is still a struggle though.
it is what it is. unmuted last bit of race when they weren't trying to cram in so many insights and PiP's and was tolerable
It’s really the most cringe thing to listen to. I feel it’s the only sport that only caters to the 1% that don’t know the sport. Don’t get me started on Will her voice makes my blood run cold.
The Shop
Ha, for me it was Vialle's (and he was itwd by Will!)...
Like most mens sports we need to get a female in on the action. Why they have to send it to Will halfway through the 1st lap blows me away. The production crew is horrible on these broadcast.
For the manufactured story-line of Jett getting a clutch start with 7th pick on the gate while Anderson (2nd pick) is to the outside of him.
What I mean by that is sausage making, golf, and merging on the freeway weren't enough to meet the NBC dumb it down quota.
Bros just chopping wood to put in a wheelbarrow to merge on the freeway for a learning lesson
...I have tried to stay away from criticism of the broadcast for years, but something inside snapped today.
I counted three instances where there was a critical pass for the lead or a battle for position, only to have Will Cristian talking over the action about rider or mechanic trivia.
I understand that this is only a dirt bike race, but I have NEVER seen any televised sport that has a sideline reporter yammering in a thick English accent about something completely different from the actual action on the track.
Save the bio and background stuff for BEFORE or AFTER the heats or mains. When racing is live, I only want commentary about what is going on in the race right then...
Please?
After all the complaints last time about throwing it to the Spanish audio during a gate drop, they made sure to do it again. I really think they're just winding us up after reading the feedback.
That's the only reason I can think why they keep going to Will more often. It certainly isn't to improve the broadcast
The broadcast is meant to be understandable for people who are 5 beers deep. That’s the only justification I can come up with for why it is the way it is.
The broadcast is terrible, what I mean by that is, it’s just not very good.
I can only imagine how cringey the production meetings must be? I'm picturing an overly enthusiastic marketing person who talks his hands saying stuff like "Will, JT! When we pan to you guys talk about non race related stuff as fast as you can! It's all about building character and personalities! Ok? Brilliant! You guys can do it coz I know you can!" (Wink, thumbs up)
I'm with you I did the same thing. I can't take listening to Carmichael anymore.
Ricky is worse now than he's ever been, it used to be that he just couldn't speak English, now he thinks he has a grasp of it and just says the dumbest things over and over every sentence. He's bringing the whole thing down.
It could be better but it damn sure could be worse. Trade screech for Jenny Taft and I’d be satisfied.
I was watching that science of supercross that explained the bike controls. I said anybody who doesnt know this, doesnt give a f&ck!!!! Do yhey do this on nascar? This is a steering wheel, this is a brake pedal, etc…
It is loose and a bit rough.
Pit Row
I used to be kind of on board with the “bad broadcaster whiners”….At this point the VitalMX comedy value makes me want the broadcast to NOT change. I just look at the title of your post and I spontaneously laugh out loud! lol
Weege, David bailey, Broc Glover, Dan Blair, JT, and whoever i missed thats good.
Had to watch it without sound as well.
" Well I was over at the Honda rig talking to dazzzy about what the boys had for lunch last friday"
i pray for the day they just let weege run the show alone. with one guy on the ground to get the dirt on the ground if shit goes sideways in a race. thats it. no need to find a backstory for everything. the minute they clip away to show some stupid story that means absolutely nothing to anyone. i check out. walk to kitchen get a drink and wait til i hear bike noises again
The first person out the door has to be the producer/director. There were countless times today when I something cool happing in the corner of the screen only to have it ignored to watch some other rider with no one else even in the frame.
I mute the sound every week.
"What I mean by that". Ricky, we're really not that stupid!
in a must situation
Can’t take anymore “Inside outside inside outside outside inside inside outside …” talk
The broadcasters know their audience...
I realize the broadcast was more basic than normal today because it ran live on the main network, but trying to listen to 3 guys in the booth and 2 sideline people at once just distracts from the explosive and fast pace nature of the heats.
if this were something like auto racing where the main race goes on for hours I would get the chatter, but supercross heats and mains are over so quickly, maybe they just call the race straight up and dissect all the other details in between?
Post a reply to: i had to mute broadcast again
