G'day all, been a long time lurker and generally don't post much, I just enjoy reading along. I know many of you are of the "vintage" where you remember the 80's and 90's MX/SX. In the 90's it seemed like all the stars had custom painted helmets, Bradshaw, Stanton, Cooper, Glover, Lechien, Johnson, Mxkeid, Wardy, JMB etc etc.
Back then i tried my hand at painting helmets (as we all probably did) and complied a bit of an album of pro's helmets that i cut out of mx magazines.. I though it had been lost forever, but turned up recently in a box.
I've seen a few topics on custom painted helmets, but they seem recent and not from that time so hopefully i'm not duplicating an old topic.
Whilst the quality of the pictures isn't that good, hopefully you will enjoy some of them and reminisce about the 80's & 90's. Some of the helmets are obvious whose they are, others i have no idea who the artist or owner is.
There's a few pictures so ill put them in a couple of posts.

The Shop
Amazing to look back at what was considered "cool" from a design standpoint
Back in the early 1990's, I tried my luck and airbrushing helmets and had so-so luck with it. I think the biggest hurdle was my lack of knowledge regarding automotive paints. I kind of wish I would've stuck with it, but college (and girls) became more important.
Thanks for posting all these photo's!
I still have a moto 5 painted by Screwy Designs, and a moto 4 and Answer helmet painted by KO Concepts on my shelf.
Any of Marylands SND or Pro Art Works?
I have a bit of an obsession myself, and always love to see other collections. The large majority of my helmet collection are production replicas, but I do have a couple "newer" pro helmets by Troy Lee and Flyin' Kolors from the early/mid 2000's.
I'll try to get some more recent pics of just the pro painted helmets and post them up in this thread.

starchild, this may be one of yours?
Damon Bradshaw
Small sample of Troy Lee's work
Pit Row
But this is what's really grabbing my attention. Is this Carmichael's helmet from his 1996 pro debut at Steel City?!
This is not my personal collection, but rather a close friends. There are more gems floating his office and home as well. He also has an extensive bike and gear collection.
I have Wanted this Fox helmet since it came out, now I see that its an old Bradshaw design. Seems strange that the original was a Bell painted by Troy Lee for Damon Bradshaw then Fox bring out a helmet with the exact same paint job but with no reference to being Bradshaw replica, but call it the Atlanta Image? Unless Bradshaw was dominant at the Atlanta rounds during his career? I wouldn't know, his career was before my time.
Is Bradshaw tied up with Fox now or something?
Please share your collection when you get the chance, I'd really enjoy seeing your helmets.
Here's mine... missing a screw but still mostly there...
Looking back... Imagine how dull the industry would be without Troy Lee involved.
The gear is a reboot of Bradshaw's Fox gear from 1990 (even showing a picture of Bradshaw in the ad), but Bradshaw is now with Fly, so no replica name.
It was Fox's special edition for the Atlanta 2015 SX, which was a retro-theme race. All Fox riders were wearing the Bradshaw throwbacks there.
