I'm really interested in this van but there's not a lot of info out there. This will most likely replace my daily driver for a few months.

I have had mine since brand new, now it has 94,000 miles. I've done the brakes once and a set of tires. I love it, it's not my only car but it is my daily driver. Mine is the 3500 extended with the gas motor.

Man that's sweet. What kinda mileage are you getting? This would ultimately replace my truck.
Have any pics behind the driver's seat ?

When I get home I'll take some pics of my interior

I get about 17 at 75 on open road. Gas engine.

They ride smooth and drive effortlessly. Mine has 22k, but have had keyless entry problems and radio and navigation problems. Keeps getting software updates. Sometimes phone dorsnt connect. Nothing big. I don't think those things will leave me a traded at a track or going down the road.

Thanks. I don't drive very slow but if you drive normal you will be at 21ish hwy, and mid teens city. Averaging about 18. It drives way better than a truck, handles like a typical euro vehicle. I don't have any good pics of the inside it's been a work in progress for a couple years, lol. To busy using it. Fits four bikes, It sleeps three, the lounge pulls out to a double bed, the bunk up top slides out to make a very large bunk.

Man these van threads are killing me I want a new van bad, my 97 ford is pretty dialed in but it's getting more rusty and miles are getting up there which worries me cause I don't want to dump bunch money into it.

But these high top vans and being wider would be so awesome lol damn you guys

I have 4 in my company, they are great trucks. Dodge has the bumper to bumper life time warranty for $3000.

Does that lifetime warranty cover commercial vehicles? I know you mentioned 4 at work, but I dont want to assume.

Yes commercial also. As long as you own it they cover it. They are in my personal name because I write off the mileage. Mileage equals a LOT more tax free dollars in your pocket

I read somewhere that Ford and Ram were not going to make a crew version like the sprinter because there is no market for it. A crew version ( legal seating for 5 and rear cargo) is what 99% of motovans and conversions are. I'd hope that these two brands would follow sprinters lead with that option, I'd buy one tomorrow!

Edit: i could buy a sprinter crew but they are a bit too pricey and I'm not a fan of the sprinter engine choices (diesel). I've owned newer diesels and prefer a gas 6 cylinder which is now like the two stroke of automotive engines, old reliable.

Wow, never heard of a v6 outliving any diesel that has been maintained. Though with the addition of DEF - who knows?

Not sure about overall durability as I think these new diesels in the vans haven't been around long enough here to really tell. But having owned a newer "emissions diesel" and having new diesels at my job, my personal experience is we have had way more problems with the diesels than any of the gas engines. Sure older diesels without dpf and egr systems may have lasted forever but these new emissions systems come with a whole slew of problems that I don't want to deal with

Wow! My brother has a lot of Sprinters and they all have issues, expensive ones too, but for what he uses them for, they are the perfect vehicle. The diesels are strong but continually have problems. Ive used them a lot and they are great for moto. Thanks!

The euro diesel motors suck in reliability after they add all the emissions crap. That's one reason I didn't buy a sprinter. ( plus it's to narrow to sleep across). The v6 is the same motor Chrysler uses in about every model they have, so parts are cheap and readily available. The pentastar v6 is a good motor, way faster than the diesels. It does 0-60 in 8 seconds. Of course it's not a race car, but it's 280hp. The diesel makes a little more torque and would tow better but to many issues and service costs. Imop

Aren't they front wheel drive? How do they handle compared to rear wheel drive van?
The front wheel drive is a benefit. I've driven in lots of snow, mud, sand, off roaded the crap out of it in the middle of the desert etc etc. if it's really slippery I turn the ESC off, with the switch on the dash.

Modern diesels are basically forced to eat their own turds with all the emissions junk they have on them nowadays and they seem to be having a lot of issues at low mileage (mainly emissions system related) across all brands. I would not count on any newer diesel to match the reliability of those from 10-15+ years ago.

That said, the use of direct injection and cylinder deactivation on modern gas engines still has some kinks to be worked out (these things have been steadily improving over the years). So basically just pick whichever you want and take proper care of it, thats the most important thing.

I would agree. My 6.7L powerstroke was a nightmare. One of the issues I had was the DEF tank went bad and Ford would not cover it under the emissions warranty, even though it was part of the emissions system and the trick would not function without it...

My company bought a bunch of diesel promasters at first but they were at the dealer every other week. Now they have the gas ones and they have no problems. The only thing I personally don't like is that they're fwd, but it does makes the cargo floor lower.
