So, what does a TV/movie guy who loves moto but doesn't ride on the track want to ride dual sport trails all the while paying tribute to his moto legend friends from Honda's 80's glory days...

A little dress up for the 10 year-old on CRF-450X...Baja Designs kit and Arizona registration...street legal trail ripper (or plonker with me on it) New to me now!

Special thanks to "The Icon" David Bailey for inspiration, Seat Concepts for taller, wider seat with retro cover, Throttle Jockey for great looking kit!

Took the opportunity to improve egos with taller seat, and lowered pegs with Fastway kit.

Good compliment to the Yamaha Super Tenere ADV in garage.

Might not be everyone's cup of tea but I'm kinda digging it and it's street legal!

My best riding bud said "Looks full factory except for turn signals and rack on the back. Hahahah!" (he was giving me crap but likes it too.

Thanks guys! It was fun. First time I have ever did something like this. I was worried at first I'd screw it up and it'd look goofy. I think I increased seating/cockpit space by about 2-3 inches, as my legs are longer and I get cramped up after a few hours in the saddle in the desert...plus the wider seat will help my...well...you know.

I like the Wrangler Grand National Champion graphics!

I've been doing a little dual sporting myself lately:

Neat Xeno! That looks like the top of Santiago...We took the ADV bikes up there a couple of times...rough on the S10!

Cool man!

Yes, that's Santigo Peak overlooking Orange County.
If you squint, you can see Villopoto relaxing on his Corona Del Mar rooftop deck...

What's the story behind that picture? Looks like no effort is being made to hold it up.. knees aren't bent, standing casually... with a 350lb foofoo bike in his arms.

I showed up on my first XR600 ride with my usual group of moto heads. They saw the MSR sticker and dubed it "Mother Ship Racing"...they all got a laugh out of it until I smeared knob marks on each of their side panels. That beast (under 300#) put the knobs to the ground but had quick and light steering. An all day ride felt about half as long.

You're obviously as big as Summers. With my stubby legs, I need a step ladder to get on those. And a crane to pick them up. They are a bike that built the brand though. Super reliable-just add fuel type of maintenance bike- until the stator packed it in, or the head cracked.

Dude, I had some epic battles in Norcal enduro in the late 90's.. it was vetB or whatever but so fun and against modified cr250's... those bikes sure sounded sick in the forest as I left them behind! Woohoo Smile

And Summers was winning just about everything on them. Honda owes that guy a lot of credit.

Humble champion too. These modern day off road guys should be sending him a small part of their bonus checks for setting the precedent cause he wouldn't have made part of what they do now, and that owe him also for that.
Sorry for the hijack BTW. Your CRFx looks great.

Yeah. He makes that bike look light and nimble. People would have to have ridden one of them to understand what a boss he is. Scroll down to the weight! And remember that these engines were stump pullers where torque was king with enough grunt to tow your car home if it broke down on your way home.

The story is, Scott Summers. That's the whole story. All those Chuck Norris jokes......they'd be an insult to the manliness of Scott Summers.

Scott's house burned down didn't it? Anybody know if they were able to get everything rebuilt? Hopefully the family has recovered.

Back on topic. Your X is badass! And that red frame would really set it off. I had my heart set on one, but decided a plate on the husky 300 will do me just fine.

What a beauty! Todd hit me up for some free Bristol Core muffler packing and steel wool when you are ready to repack your muffler.
