Who really cares? All celebrities do is draw attention to themselves, call it artistry, and then get together several times a year at award shows to celebrate how great they think they are.

After the Aretha Franklin tribute, it's all downhill musically. Those women have some serious chops. I don't like country music, but even Martina McBride sounded incredible.

I don't mind her music and acting angrily towards her stunts is what she wants. Yes her theatrical crap is unsubtle/forced and she forgot to thank Madonna for her entire career in her acceptance speech, but otherwise reacting with anything more than an eyeroll is a waste of your time. Same goes for the irrational venom thrown towards Justin Bieber.

But I felt there was a fairly strong variety of music in this year's awards and some very strong nods to the past. The folk-alt performances that culminated with Dylan coming on stage, Mick Jagger having not lost an ounce of his swagger and even the muppet show with Cee-Loo Green was well done. If there was something you disliked it was likely something you did quickly followed. None of the acts lingered, there was a strong appreciation towards the past and there came Seth Rogen with an eleventh hour slam in case you felt things were getting too masturbatory. Plus giving Esperanza Spalding the award over the far more popular acts shows they were awarded by talent rather than popularity (Like the Oscars seemingly are devolving into).

It wasn't perfect but I found it impressive.

I didn't watch the grammys and Lady Gaga registers around -8 on my give-a-fuck-o-meter but she was on Leno last night. Weird bird she/it is. The second guest he had on was one of the hottest chicks I've ever seen and she's got a 16 year old kid. There's no way she looks old enough to have a 16 year old. I don't know who she is but apparently she's a model for some new Pepsi ads. I'll have to do a little research. I mean smokin' hot!
