Yes we do have as a country a security problem, the drug cartels are jockeying for positions on the border cities (big coincidence ha?) with the U.S. the problem is a multicountry problem. in the case of coke columbia produces it then its shipped to mexico and the cartels where there are mexicans and colombians have american contacts and worse of all american consumers that demand that shit. so dont get on us on this we are saints attitude as you are part of the problem too if americans didnt want drugs there would be no drug dealing with you and no security issues on the border with the u.s. dont try to generalize all the mexicans just because a few persons deal drugs accross the borders. you are also part of these shit because the cartels usually get firearms at the U.S. its a sad day for mexican motocrossers and lets treat it like that imagine that a top U.S. motocrosser got killed and we came on the irak and afganistan stuff i guess you wouldnt like it right? |

There's a flow of illegal shit going in both directions.

8/19/2008 8:51 PM I met Rene and his father at the Houston SX. They both were very friendly. I helped him with a minor bike problem. He had some family there who were excited to be at the race with Rene. They were taking pictures of each other with Rene and they insisted I be in the pictures with them. They were a lot of fun. I could see that Rene was a really good guy. RIP

Show me anti-Mexican in this thread. I love Mexico and Mexicans. I'm not for illegal aliens entering the US from any country or for voluntarily traveling where drug cartels are brazenly running the show without regard for human life. Reyes loosing his life is a tragedy. I hope the animals that did it get swiftly brought to justice (and buried).
The Baja comments are justified given the crime and booby traps. SCORE really ought to seek US soil for the race if they cannot ensure rider's safety from sabotage and violence. A desert race is dangerous enough without having to worry about malicious intent ... especially just for laughs. |

8/20/2008 11:09 AM My sister lived in El Paso for 3 years and when I visited we did the Juarez thing. Nice strip clubs there! Saw some really hot Mexican girls puff cigs out of their va-jay jays and then pass to dirty old men for a puff.
Lots of high schoolers crossed there so they could drink legally. At night the place turned completely crazy and I was chased by a group of Mexicans, on the US side of border. Not sure what they where yelling, but I ran and was able to jump a fence and hide under a deck. they never found me....I still have bad dreams about that to this day. Flat out fucking scary. |

8/20/2008 2:25 PM There were actually three riders killed. R.I.P.
Motorcycle champ caught up in Chihuahua troubles EFE Champion motorcyclist René Reyes Aguirre and two other Mexican racers were gunned down in the northern border city of Ciudad Juárez, the Mexican Motorcycling Federation, or FMM, said Tuesday. The FMM posted a note of condolence on its Web site, in which it lamented the competitors´ deaths. It added that "they were victims of the violence that unfortunately Chihuahua and the whole country are going through." According to local newspaper El Diario de Chihuahua, an armed individual entered the house where Reyes, 24, and fellow motorcycle racers José Refugio Ontiveros and Andrés Mora were staying, and opened fire on them. Reyes was five-time champion of Supercross SX1 Experts. He last won that race in 2008. Among his international achievements was his 2004 entry into the Main Event in the United States, a competition which brings together the world´s top 20 racers. Reyes came from a family of renowned motorcyclists, among them his father and his brother. On Tuesday, various motorcycle groups in Chihuahua marched in protest against the violent death of their three friends. Nearly 1,050 people have died violently in Chihuahua since Jan. 1, accounting for nearly 50 percent of the deaths nationwide this year. The entire nation has been plagued in recent years by drug-related violence, with powerful cartels battling each other and the security forces as they vie for control of lucrative smuggling routes and distribution channels into the United States. In recent months, more and more reports have emerged of innocent victims being affected by the violence. Army troops and federal police have been deployed to Chihuahua since earlier this year to quell the rising violence. Instead, the murder rate has spiked. Chihuahua Gov. José Reyes Baeza Terrazas called for a new federal strategy to fight organized crime and reinstate security following a mass killing on Saturday. |

8/20/2008 2:32 PM God Speed! He and his family were some of the nicest people i got to meet. I had the chance with my little brother and Foster576 to go down to a big race in Mexico with he and his family. Rene was very nice and a great hostess. That is one of my most memeorable races I went to. I had just seen him a month ago and he was wanting to buy the new yamaha 450 from me.. Just sucks he got tied up in his brother in laws business. The family had also just lost Rene's older brother to cancer. This is a really bad time for there family. Keep the prayers going for the family and Renes wife and new unborn child

8/20/2008 5:12 PM Absolutely terrible news.
Rene and my son were team mates at Munn KTM in the 04 supercross series. This really hits home with me because my son is also expecting his first child and I can't imagine what his wife and family must be going through right now. Our thought and prayers will go out to the Reyes family tonight. If you're going to talk smack, then sack up and let people know who you are. Jim Martin |

A few months back here on this forum there was a big argument about border control and illegal immigrants. This is one example of what goes on inside Mexico that most Americans dont know about. There are groups of criminals in Mexico that are little more than animals who will kill you for no good reason. The faster they put up a border fence / wall the better. 1st off RIP Rene... as for croom mx, you tool...they are getting rich and killing for power and money dumbass, courtesy of the great american drug user coupled with the profiteering off of widely used substances, that instead of being cheap with no value are somewhat hard to obtain with great value.
those mescans shoot a few hundred people a year over money and power. they should follow us americans and kill thousands a year over oil and private enterprise profits. better yet let's lower the drinking age and add 50,000 more needless deaths a year in to benefit the beer cartels. |
