Well to my surprise a lot of OEM parts are available for this bike still !! I have everything I need to complete the swingarm. What I couldn't find OEM I did find through ebay from RCM manufacturing, which by the way produces some really nice stuff for this bike at good prices as far as I am concerned !!

Nice work. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. I think the blue frame will look pretty cool.

I raced a 78 RM125 back in 84-85. I repainted my frame a similar blue cause it was the color for 85s. So it is true post vintage to do that Wink

Hello all! Ive had a 78 rm250 c2 in my shop for a few years and im wanting to get rid finally but i dont really know what to price it or if its even worth fixing up. Any idea where i could post it and for about how much? Its not in amazing shape and im tempted to just part it out but dont really have the time.

I have not. It is something I do want to finish, life kinda got stalled out, I do plan to get back at it at some point once funding allows me too.

What fork seals are best for the C2? How about weight of fork oil and level?

I have restored a couple for racing, engines can be pretty easily modified for more power, lower the intake port, carefull widening and cleanup of the exhaust port, reeds or reed block.

83/84 front forks duel pull brakes, I still have a complete setup available. I like to install the metal RM125 tank, pretty simple mod to make it fit.

Strip the frame have all weld adressed

I have a post showing cylinder mods and tank on this site.

Good luck

Do the 82/83 front forks just bolt straight up to the 78.5 C2 as in the stem work? Or do the clamps need bored out?

No, I believe I used the 82 triple clamps. All balls has the bearing conversion kits

My 79 Suzuki RM 250 left me with an impression that still lasts today. Rear speocket bolts came loose. Mounting lugs on hub broke off. New hub time. Now every moto from day 1 gets red loctite on the rear sprocket bolts. Never an issue since.
