Question that just popped into my mind.

Everyone on the left and some others are pissed about her putting down a dog that was overly agressive and unpredictable. Someone who obviously has a ton of background working woth dogs as she has trained and worked with many dogs over her lifetime.

My question is how do you feel about Barack Hussain Obama eating dog? Cause he has.

Like loudlove said, this was presented as a vengeful act and nothing she has said since has changed that perspective.

Every dog can be aggresive in the right circumstances, some little yappy dogs get aggressive if you look at them, some dogs get aggressive around food, some dogs don't like your new girlfriend. I had a dog that was nice to everyone except 1 of my friends, he would stand his hair everytime he saw him even after 10 years. You have to know your dog.

Obama wrote about his stepfather feeding him meats from different animals with the belief that you absorbed the essence of each animal you ate. Equating an 8 year old boy being given meat to eat to a grown woman shooting a dog she hated is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Obama was not glorifying eating dog meat as a righteous act, he was reflecting on some weird stuff he experienced.

Dogs are not people.

The process of getting a dog is different than the process of making a baby, it's a much more clear eyed decision. Dogs are much less responsibility, easier to take care of, cheaper, and easier to pass to a different care taker if things don't work out between the 2 of you.

Having a child is a much more important life step than getting a dog. A child binds 3 people together forever, for better or worse, and requires much much more time, effort, money, emotional and psychological labor from the parents. Parents that fail their children is much worse than an owner that fails their dog. The effects are felt by another person and unfortunately can lead to negative consequences for them and for our society. Creating babies is easy, raising good people is hard.

I assume you are against all forms of birth control including condoms and have never had sex without the intent of procreating?

This is going to be a rough season for Democrats if they need to dredge up a story about killing a poor tempered dog as a talking point.

Remember when the story about Mitt Romney came out? The one where he strapped his beloved family dog to the top of his car and drove to Canada? Though it’s arguably a worse thing to do, that story didn’t get a dedicated article in the New York Times because the incumbent Obama campaign could handily deal with the challenger on policy and administration. Obama was pretty delicate about the way he handled the gay marriage issue and managed to promote his party’s interest in a way that didn’t come off as adversarial to the republicans. Compare that to how the party and current president has handled the trans issue.

The dems have lost the plots.

Not sure how this thread went from Kristi Noem to abortion, but...

It's not a 'child' until it is born.

From conception it goes zygote-embryo-fetus until birth, then 'child'

79% of abortions occur before week 9. That would be a fetus.

A fetus is not capable of living outside the womb until about week 25. Less than 1% of abortions occur after week 20, most of those due to fetal abnormalities or miscarriages.

No one is advocating murdering children

My solution would be widespread sex education, and cheap and easy birth control including Plan B and vasectomies. I'd rather my tax dollars go to pay for a vasectomy than some dead beat dad's kid.

Similarly, if a person is unwilling to deal with a dog that doesn't meet their expectations (not by shooting it), I'd rather they buy a dog already trained or stay away from dogs altogether.

I'm glad i learned sex ed from my PE teacher who shagged a bunch of chicks when he was on the rugby circuit.

Would have been uncomfortable to learn it from dad. Dads message would have been, make sure your not gay. Mom would have said, wait till you get married and then figure it out.

Okay, good comeback.

I guess I don’t see what the number of children I have has anything to do with RUN accusing you of dodging a question.

I know you were just fishing so you could try to make a moral equivalency between using birth control and aborting babies. There is none.

If you have a problem grasping that, then you just have a problem.

Sorry that was a response to how it came up, I was addressing the wrong subject with 2.

I was wondering what kind of experience you have supporting a woman thru pregnancy, birth, and raising the baby/child. It can really go sideways especially with hospitals refusing to care for pregnant women in health trouble because they are afraid of getting in trouble with the state, it's happened here in Ohio.

While we were in here debating the merits of all of this…

I got a letter today from one of the Far-Nor-Cal Humane Societies regarding their donations being down due to the Economy…which is yet another avenue we can go down…but, how about we go in a different direction?

Fuck all this shit and our opinions, yes…to steal a phrase from one of our better threads here in…Fuck You! Fuck Me! FUCK ALL OF THIS…

Damn near everyone of us in this thread clearly gives a shit about dogs.
Nice!

So…

If you’ve got a few dollars and want to do something for all the dogs…all the animals that are in some pretty damn sad situations…?

Go give a few $ to your local shelter. It sounds like they’re not doing to well in these current economic times. Again…no…I don’t care to argue that issue, either

Manny

And…yes…I know…Fuck You, Manny! Laughing

No Manny, the fuck you thread was a different one so you are ok. No fuck you necessary (but I am sure you will get some down votes from the usual bots)

And yes, great suggestion to help support the animal shelters near you (or anywhere).

There is a dog shelter just outside Rocky Pointe (Mexico) that many AZ and CA residents frequent (the town not the dog shelter).

We have been going down there several times a year for decades. This shelter went from one ex-pat American woman 30+ years ago trying to help out a few stray dogs to a legitimate dog haven.

Billboard signs on the highway (asking for food or donations) leading into RP, a legit dog sanctuary.

We have made it a regular plan for our trips to drop off bags of dog food to support their mission.

The local shelter accepts aluminum recycle as donations.  That's how we support them.

Good MORNING from the perfect weather weeks of Redding, California where everything seems awesome until you see the pollen on your car and you realize why your eyes feel like they’re on fire!

Now, about your nice & friendly...welcoming posts.

You guys are such a disappointment! Don’t you remember back when you were punk rock and your Vans (the shoes, you old kook!) didn’t match? Don’t you remember hating on disco? Well, embrace that angry inner-teenager…

Laughing

You guys should’ve finished your posts with,”…and Fuck You!”

I guess the rebellious music thread has stuck. Been listening to older-better stuff from my youth…Sabbath, Dark Side of the Moon…even “Destroyer”. But, the real gold…? Mountain…Montrose…hell, do you remember the reallllllly awesome long tracks from Yes?

Ya know, we had it REALLY, REALLY FUCKING GOOD! Still do.

Go have a great day…oh, and, Fuck You! (We Do What We Want!) 💪🏻

I religiously recorded the BBC Friday Rock Show, Tommy Vance (TV on the radio) because...well he was just bad ass.

Long, BBC studio, one-off recordings that are mind blowing.  I think (old ass memory) I've got The Outlaws...Green Grass and High Tides that is just incredible.  Some good stuff.

Scene: Freddie Mercury watches video…takes a drag off of his cigarette…looks into the camera that’s filming the moment…

”Darling, that’s just too gay.”

Shakes his head.

I used to listen to the King Biscuit Flower Hour on WMMS in Cleveland (the home of the buzzard)

I thought it was a midwest thing. On idea it was national!

Oh, and as far as Yes goes.....huge fan since 1972. Saw them on the Yessongs tour in Pittsburgh.
