Just got my May issue of Dirt Bike and noticed not only did his column disappear for the 2nd month in a row, but he's also removed frome the masthead as editor.  Anyone know what's going on at DB Magazine?

Don't know.

Saw he was listed as Editor in April and in May he's under Contributors.

Partial retirement?

Great guess!  Found this update on his Facebook page:

"Well friends, after almost four decades of working at Dirt Bike, I’m backing it down a skosh reducing my schedule to focus on what makes me smile- riding! There were several catalysts to this change as the magazine world has evolved dramatically via shrinking sales and a tightening economy. But there’s no sniveling from the Wolfster, my run in the business has been so good that it was nearly illegal.

I have been one of those incredibly lucky people who woke up thinking, breathing and living dirt bikes, because that was my job!

I will continue to contribute to Dirt Bike, Ron and I are good friends and riding machines, testing product and covering races has been a major part of my DNA for 4 decades. Riding with my brothers, exploring and constantly scaring myself is definitely part of the program."

Hey, even a blind squirrel finds an occasional nut!Grinning

Doesn't really surprise me about DB, though. I've been wondering how much longer they would be around, as they are a shadow of what they used to be in the '70s and '80s. Nowadays they seem to be more about "bike builds" that are really just product showcases for their advertisers and have more of ADV focus; no real meat in their content. I used to read it cover to cover but I seldom find anything interesting in there these days.

I wish him well - he's been a mainstay in the sport for a long time.Cool
