Shouldn't he provide examples of him blaming JS7 and Honda for his lack of success since that's where his conversation started and everyone basically said that's not true? And then his response was "I'm doing well in fantasy, clearly I know more than you lol"
Chase is widely known as being one of the most transparent riders out there at the moment. He linked that interview with Lars where they talked about how much he was testing and working on the bike but guess what? We heard that from Lars, not Chase. Switching trainers or teams doesn't just automatically mean he's blaming them for not winning a championship unless he's saying that himself. There's more reasons why a rider would want to change his training program or race team.
Chase has said several times how much he appreciated everything Honda did for him, how they kept working with him until the very last race on the bike when they knew he was leaving.....
Chase crashing more on the Honda than he has on the KTM is just a fact, is he supposed to pretend like it isn't?
Would love to see even the slightest bit of reporting or quote or anything to back up the JS7 claim.....
thought zim was his wrench at HRC which he insisted come with him to orange?
must be more to this ????????????
After watching tonight’s race and seeing Sexton outfox Mr “Racecraft” himself, I thought I’d come in to see some positivity towards chase. Instead, we get some dude making wild ass claims and his dull normal sidekick telling everyone the onus is on them to prove studtardz wrong.
Do better, Vital.
The Shop
not one moto-bro-media journalist asked CS a single question about his mechanic during the presser. Are you surprised? ugh.
Bro Chase wouldn’t grant them any more interviews if they ask anything besides “tell me about your race”
You good with this or would you like to expect better from our media?
They should ask him in 6 months, more likely to get an honest response.
What a miss by our media. Another reason this sport will not grow. Big news like this but the tough questions don’t get asked. Any other Motorsports this would be a big talking point for the weekend
You've mentioned before that you have a journalism background; get a credential, go to a race and ask the hard hitting questions you want asked. If your story's good, one of the moto outlets would buy it.
made my day....great one 🤪
Matthes the most independent hardest hitting journalist is a Capt remember?
everyone feels sorry for the multi-millionaire, but how bout we afford the working class mech the same.
We dont know the story yet of course, but Zimm is an experienced race tech, so somethings fishy.
Do we trust Ktm after treating their ex-riders the way they do?
Tried making my case for the throttle tube rock story being BS but the fans will lap that up then see a mechanic get fired with no explanation who was the sidekick of their number 1 rider for many years at his other employer. Not to mention fork-gate. Ill gladly accept an oversight by the mechanic being responsible for his loop out but it wasnt a rock on his throttle. Ya'll ever heard of "fool me once...?"
With Prado moving over, fast young riders moving up, one has to wonder if Chase will get another championship. Probably not outdoors? Maybe in SX?
Remember when James moved to the big bike class and no one but him won a championship….
So the whole media in attendance misses one of the biggest talking points of the weekend? Sad.
I thought the same...
This is moto bro, our "live stream" of the event is actually a 4 hour commercial with some "racing coverage" sprinkled in. The "journalists" are ex industry people who will be ostracized the second they actually report on anything remotely interesting as they'll be pissing off the hands that fed them once. I am exaggerating slightly but kinda is what it is. ML arguably got the biggest scoop of the year with the KYB's on Sextons bike and got his head bitten off by said team I believe. Circus.
Pit Row
ML got the scoop, but KTM took it out on Sexton's mechanic, giving him the boot.
Unless Chase or Zim come out with the details, I'm sure KTM won't as that's their deal. I would speculate that Zim was part of the package with a disclaimer that results must be achieved. Chase has shown he has the speed in the last few rounds outside of mechanicals and some bad luck. Maybe Zim just wasn't a good cultural fit? Maybe there was an ultimatum? Either way, I'm happy Chase is finding his speed and hoping he'll hit his stride as we go into outdoors. As previously mentioned, he's one of the elite that can take Jett down.
If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, then KTM is doing the right thing making changes. Chase looked good Saturday with new (existing KTM) mechanic Defoe.
Zimm being let go after this reminds me of Max Vohland's debut. Ran up front, bike blew up then his mechanic was fired.
I haven't poured over this entire thread but is there any exact confirmation that KTM let his mechanic go? Maybe he just didn't work the last race because of some personal reason
because it's not my job, perhaps? It's the moto-journalist's job. and they blew it - again. I also have a dirt bike background. should i show up and show Eli how to properly hit the whoops?
Regardless of what happened with his mechanic, this fast lap is very impressive and shows Chase is getting his speed back:
If you take this in the context of Chase’s results this week?
PURE GOLD!!!
No mention of it on the pulp review, kinda makes me even more curious.
No, can't say I do.
Five 450 class titles on an orange bike gives you some freedoms.
@ML512 - were you at this week's presser?
If you're not willing to be part of the solution to the problem then stop bitching about it as much as you do...
