Philly supercross attendance numbers?

Was anyone there live? How did the turnout look? The riders on press day were talking about how massive the stadium was, curious if they had a good turnout. I heard 1 commercial for it on the radio and no other advertisements. Not a peep from the locals that anything was going on.

On TV it seemed like the attendance looked pretty good compared to some rounds.  I bet it was in the top 6 attendance wise on the year, but I have zero real data to back that up!

From what I could tell from my seat, it looked like the entire lower bowl and club levels were filled. Then it looked like they had one sideline and both endzones of the upper bowl maybe half-ish filled? I couldnt really see above me very well. The upper bowl sideline across from me was closed. So I’d say it felt like a pretty solid turnout.

I can tell you this, enough people that the stadium should’ve had more of their food stands operating.

Not surprised since it is a huge population area with Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, NYC and NJ all in driving range.

I heard the announcer in the stadium mention 42,000. The place was packed, I think the majority of the sections that were available for seating were sold out or very near close to it. It seemed better attended than East Rutherford last year. And agree about the food, we stood in line for like 20 min both times we went to get food. You'd think the vendors would have some info about ticket sales going in, but everywhere we went seemed to be struggling to keep up with demand.

Capacity is 67k, so 63 percent full.

The Ga dome used to sell out (70k I think) and now Atlanta dont even get a race.  The speedway was okay but I miss the dome races.  I know thieves and covid hurt the dome but downtown setup was nice. At least to us. We hadn't missed one since 04.

Probably should deduct 7k for the seating near the floor that is closed off all the way around.

That would make Supercross capacity 60k'ish

So 42k = 70% capacity

I was there and I would say attendance was maybe even a little more than I expected. You're playing with fire having a race in an open stadium in the Northeast in April haha. Could rain, could snow, could be 100 degrees. They did not sell tickets for the upper section on one side of the stadium so it was empty but all the other sections were quite full. The pit setup was awesome, especially when you have a 5 year old that wants to see everything. I'll second the food lines being long. Getting out of the parking lots was a cluster too. But overall I think it was pretty awesome.

I was surprised with how many people were there. Definitely more than Jersey. I would bet Philly is on the schedule next year.

I saw Aramark employees (their food vendor) were on strike that week. Sixers were playing too, so I'm sure they were low on staff.

I took a short video of the hammaker/swoll crash, you can see the crowd pretty well at points

As someone from Philly, I am really happy there was a huge turnout, and I am glad the race seemed to go pretty smoothly and no horror stories of crime; Philly is not Oakland, but I get we have a certain reputation here...

I took this picture about 10 minutes before rider intros. It was pretty packed.

When it started raining during the heats and at one point you could see it on TV, I was like here we go....  gonna be a PA slopfest.  Got lucky the rain seemed to hold off after that.

I was there and was impressed with the turnout. Really packed except for the nosebleeds.

Big crowds in the pits and fan fest. Sure looked like a great turnout.

Agreed the large open area for pits was fantastic 👍🏻

I took my whole family plus some extras (8). Drove 1 1/2hrs from the Lehigh Valley and had a great time. A good crowd for sure. Stadium announcing system in the Linc is horrible. I’ve also been to Met Life, but the Philly vibe was great.

Thursday I pu a ld in the Phily area going to Nh. Then nh to nc. I parked in s Jersey sat  there was a lt rain. Get up at 3.30 am & roll south. I lived in s Phily in 88 , 89 to 98 pipeline construction in the area. 94,95 we had a few months of work . We stayed in Essington a big mob area. We paid millions of dollars to hv everything run smooth.  Ever been to the Lagoon club ?  That was my 2nd home, Whicked Fun. Lol

Agree, at one point in my life I went 20yrs in a row to ATL. Shame they got that new dome and SX isn't allowed back in it. The nascar venue sucks IMO, went once won't go back.
