Trigger/Nathan Fletcher started metal mulisha. I was w trigger when he drew the first skull for MM in adam jones garage.
Fox Racing - Geoff Fox... saw an opportunity for the gear before others. Focused on that. Was actually a teacher at Santa Clara University at the time and riding was a hobby.
Fox Shoxs - brother Bob Fox was more into the shock portion back in mid 70's... came up with the Fox air shox that was sold as I recall though his brothers Geoff's company. Somewhere along this time Steve Simmons was involved with Bob and did some design work with/for Bob- I think the fork Bob sold was a simmons design?. You can also see the simmons fork later that was an aftermarket fork for mid/late 70’s moto bikes. And later Brad Lackey used an Upside down ver to win the GP’s. Later Bob split from Geoff's company and did his own thing. Bob and Geoff companies were next to each other in Campbell, Ca (think los gatos) off McGlincy Lane. I spent some time there way back when. Bob's company started to grow again after the moto airshock craze ...it was the snow mobile business that got them back on their feet (they won an industry event for mfg’s in the snow mobile segment – done with fox shocks – which turned into an OEM agreement for the next year... which gave them some breathing room after years of not making a lot of $). Michael Daws was instrumental in helping that get done for Bob. From there the MTN bike market started … and that market was prime for suspension …. First with Paul Turner and Rock shox Forks and later…. Bob got into it. At first Bob did just rear shocks. Kevin Risse who was a student at the University of Santa Clara finishing up a mechanical engineering degree came on board early as an intern. . Later as Rock Shox’s stint as a public company was not going great… a few guys jumped ship from Rock Shox and went to fox to build a front bike fork so Fox could sell a fork and shox as a pair. I got one of the early versions of that fork. That would be Mike McAndrews and Neezer that made that happen at Fox (google clicksuspension.com)… these guys all grew up together. Fox shocks doubled in size in … 12 to 18 months. Best move Bob ever made! Led to a $ cash out event several years later.
And Paul Turner…. Now making a tequila like drink on property he owns and lives on in Maui. He may have the last laugh.
I know he hasn't necessarily started anything of his own, but JT$ comes across as highly professional and a hard worker, and is no doubt contributing alot at Fly. Seems to have a big interest in the stock market also
I’m shocked Reed hasn’t been mentioned?
