Meh. Usually when something is to good to be true, it is. He's hiding something
Quality listen. Also really enjoyed the recent one Weege did with Mike Webb.

The way of working makes me think about the piece of the Belgian Special Forces mentality. Seems a stupid comparison. But there they tell prospective recruits that the strongest motivation comes from within yourself. That training can only give them the tools to become great, but that work ethic and accountability is something you have to bring up out of yourself and for your self.
With young kids doing sports its very often the same, how many kids are great soccer, flag-football, cyclist, basketball... Because they want to please there environment but at one moment, they ask themself what they are doing and for who?! And they throw it all into the drain. But if they choose a sport because they are interested, passionate and they give everything they can, and as parent you support them 100% and at the same time you see your kids grow into adults who are accountable for their failures but also for their success. Then you know: success in sport or not they will enter the world with some nice experiences in their backpack.
And Old Mate tells us every time, Dazzy gave 100% to support his kids in their passion because he looked for people with know-how and absorbed all info he could get. Maybe Dazzy should write a book about "what if my kid has a passion for a sport", you can't say he handled it badly.
It's the lines of cocaine the brothers are snorting on the start gate right?
I know I thought so too.
I listened to that interview, and I'd say it's Jett and Hunter who are the lucky bastards to have a dad who is so tuned in and positive, as opposed to the legion of crazy mini dads running around yelling at their kids.
Had a chat with Dazzy at San Diego SX, he is still very wired in to the guys who run race teams in MXGP, and we got into what is the consensus for the best Mexican restaurant in San Diego.
I also liked his perspective on competition, and not directing hate to motivate you. Acknowledge they are better than you, and then focus that energy on making yourself better. Very powerful reminder that.
Also, cue every podcast and media person going after Dazzy interviews now.
Probably hates 2 strokes and rotella
I hope it happens, I'd love to hear more of his story.
One of my favourite Dazzy quotes “if you don’t like us in the spotlight, put in the work and take it off us”. Top bloke, says it how it is and never forgets why they’re doing it.
I listened to the Nico Izzi interview on Swap Moto. He mentions being "over it" when he turned pro but felt pressure to follow through from family and that was kind of when it went downhill for him. What a difference in perspectives and what could have been.
Take this approach to every kid.
Imagine what would be created if everyone did what they love.
Bit of sweet redemption hearing Old Mate Mossy getting so much praise, when you’ve had dickheads here who’ve ridiculed him for being proud of his achievements.
Honestly quite inspiring interview did not expect that at all
The world would be a better place if everyone was as self aware as him.
Pit Row
Absolutely. Greg breathes Moto and improving riders. Got a keen eye for the riding side of the sport.
Exactly. Old Mate is damn proud and rightly so. Well done to him and I wish him all the best.
I think they're just ribbing him. There is always those couple d-bags who take this shit too seriously. Damn right Old Mate should be proud. I enjoy hearing his input on riding and technique, not just Jett
That was a great interview. He has an awesome perspective on life given their humble beginnings to having two of the fastest racers on the planet.
What's a dazzy?
I called him Jetstar, on the peewee but Emma said no Jetson is better , Then it was Dazza but it’s now Dazzy.
Jettison, like a fuel dump..?
AMA sx was the dream for every Aussie who rode a bike as a kid, what a journey and now I get to watch Jet and Hunter into my fishing days of retirement soon.
I think one of there best parts was sharing that Hunter developed Jett and that's why Jett is better.....and he gives a lot of credit to Hunter for this. Hunter basically paved the way for Jett and all the learning was applied to Jett from the beginning. It truly feels like the "family" goals are real here and I don't think we will see a division between the two.
Well done Old Mate.
I bet you at least had a smile on your face if not welling up a tear or two at the nice things Darren said about you in the interview.
As a family therapist I was moved by him apologizing to Hunter in that story. Most kids never hear apologies from parents.
Every parent should Listen to this intereview on their way to a Loretta Lynns qualifier, I think it would improve more their kids results than spending money on fully modified minibikes or big trailer son thinking Jr is the next RC, instead of helping the Jr improve and be the next RC, Dazzy aproach is simple, he never thought Jett was the next RC, but he damn sure worked, listened and learn, and gave Jett the tools to BECOME a great rider.
