Interesting stuff......This popped up on my Facebook feed and I've just realized that my assumption that ColdPlay was a Canadian group was wrong. Furthermore it's embarrassing to admit after all these years I throught Dire Straits was outta America. Geezuz...how could I get that wrong? Im'a fucking tool...that's whyLaughing

Our Pommie friends on the little Island can be damn proud. There are some very big Legendary names and Groups there.

I'll check for more maps of where bands have originated from to post here.

Lots of people and  bands missing from that 'map'

No Beatles?

No Jeff Beck?

No Mott the Hoople?

No Slade?

No Faces or Small Faces?

No Yes?

No Emerson, Lake & Palmer?

And who are Linda Lewis, Kathy Kirby and Dizzee Rascal?

Odd that the Beatles are not on that map.

Woohoo..this is turning into a Geography lesson.

Here is a proper map of the UK, so that little map of musicians is a tad off.

I recently found out Cindy Lauper is from the Bronx, NY. Always thought that she was from the UK.

I think that map is just London proper, which would explain the other British acts missing. You can see The Police's penis there lower left.

Geeze Boom, haven't you ever heard Cyndi talk?

In an instant you'd know she was no Pom!

With you being Seth Efrican, I'm trying to think of groups / singers from your  country. I could only name Die Antwoord, and that's mainly from the 2  members ( and they are thoroughly 'different / weird / controversial' individuals) from it being in the Movie 'Chappie', directed by Neill Blomkamp.

Also, The Police are only 2/3 British. Stewart Copeland is from America.

Hey ol Falcon, how did you come across that bit of info?

The Police are were brilliant and are still one of my favorite groups. Sting's solo stuff is also really good.

They did start in the UK, though.

I've heard Copeland speak, and it made me wonder. So I googled him:

Stewart Copeland
American musician and composer
