I have always wondered what the bonus difference is for a rider between supercross and motocross titles from the teams. Seen many comments from the riders over the years pretty much saying the outdoor time is a nice cherry on top but the manufacturers care about one thing. Dungeys podcast with Gypsy he Made a statement along the times of. “We got the outdoor title in 12 which was nice but they only cared about one thing they wanted that indoor title” so I’m guessing 500k outdoor tittle 450 and 250k outdoor title 250? Cut in half pretty much? See if anyone has anymore info!
I think the bonus money is the same for both series. This is normally agreed on before contracts are signed.
The contracts are all different for each rider, but by what has been reported regularly the bonuses are the same for each respective 250 title and basically double for 450. The bonuses being the same does not mean the importance is the same. I would agree with Dungey that teams put more importance on the SX results.
I wonder what sort of bonus implications have occurred with the new SMX format. Is that title treated as a 3rd championship opportunity with a similar bonus to SX or MX, or do the teams lower the bonuses for the original 2 series and give a larger bonus for SMX overall championship? Do riders who were signed before the SMX format was introduced still get a bonus for the SMX title? Etc….
I don't think there is any bonus paid for the SMX title.

It must be different based on each rider's deal. I thought langston got 1.2m or so for his 07 outdoor title.
