It looks like Jett pretty much timed the market perfect (COVID craze) when he made his splash and signed the big contracts. Fast forward to todays economy - Does Deags get his big deal? Or has it already happened?
wut
^^yes the OEMs and gear companies where flush with cash
Rumor is Jett already signed a long term extension with Honda.
You have to figure Chase is watching the PMG stock slide and thinking of a back up plan for 26
The Shop
Isn't Progressive insurance coming in to sponsor both race teams next year? Seems like there's way too much emphasis being put on consumer sales as it relates to the race team budget.
These guys will be fine.
Pretty sure 2008-2009 reset a bunch of budgets….
I think his current deal is up at the end of 25 and it’s hard to see him going back to ktm. Doesn’t seem like it’s been the most rosey relationship. Star will have a spot for him, maybe kawi.
Honda was not good, now KTM. Starting to become a pattern.
I would say he stays Orange.
The best guys will always be paid as such and even were back then. I'm sure Deegan will make bank if he continues on his current trajectory and if I'm being honest, he has more value than other top tier racers in the past due to his social media presence.
It may not be one gear brand that dominates like in the past where someone like Fox has every top-dog but honestly I think that is actually better overall for the industry. You get more brand representation that way with someone like Webb getting a Fly deal instead of being just 1 of the 30 Thor athletes. Or Justin Cooper signing with O'neal. In my opinion, Alpinestars is currently becoming the "elite" gear brand with their riders, like Fox was in years prior. But like I said earlier, I think it's better if there are more brands being represented across the board and I don't think any of the elites of the sport will be feeling the burn of a costly economy at the moment. Think of the font runners in the 450 class and it could be a number of brands that they're running. Alpinestars, Fox, O'neal, Fly, FXR, TLD, Thor and even Seven with Mookie all have a bright light on them when you look at all the guys across the board.
tldr; Danger Boy isn't/won't be feeling any burn in the current market.
I think Jett should be the highest paid mx rider. Hes a potential champion for years to come.
Wow profound stuff.
Not the only pattern I’m sensing
Since he want to be ”the guy” on the team, the Austrian groupe is his only option today.
Kawasaki - Prado and that’s to close for comfort outdoors.
Honda - Jett.
Star Yamaha - Tomac and probably Haiden in the near future, and we all know that the team will be the Deegan show if he stays there just like the 250 team is now.
So he either have to stay where he is or wait for Triumph/Ducati to put up a good bike and money in his pocket.
Everyone knows the R8 was a secret bonus for his future Ducati deal.
Interesting when you look at it that way. At the end of 2025 he’ll be 26 years old with a couple of titles under his belt, and potentially no obvious place to go (if he really isn’t happy at KTM). Not dissimilar to Reed at the end of ‘09 (Reedy was one year older) - still a race winner and genuine championship contender but no factory seats available. Mainly just bad timing.
Seats will be available, but maybe not at the terms he want them to be if he feels that he must be the main guy.
But when he get closer to 30 than 20 maybe he can put that ”ego” aside and just focus on the racing no matter what team mate he might have.
Not sure about you, but I was excited to see how he'd do on kawi that year. It was a solid payday. Didn't work out for a number of reasons, obviously.

Don’t you think Kawi would put more stock in Chase than Prado?
As for now it seems that Chase don’t want to be under a tent where he gets beat by his team mate. I doubt that Prado would beat him at SX but there is a chance that a four time world champ might do that outdoors and that’s probably enough for Sexton no matter how much stock Kawi would put in to him over there.
It’s clear that it wears on him getting beat by Jett and i can understand that he want to be in a enviorment where he can focus on just trying to beat him and not having to worry about your team mate beating you to.
Guess there’s always Beta 😂
Surely you aren't asserting that Chase is gonna play the setup card any time he's not on the top step of the podium!!🤣
