I wasn’t sure what to expect from Davies, but he held his own in the heat race and during the main he went down, then last to 8th. Very impressive, I’ll be keeping an eye on this kid!
Huge surprise. Considering he was meant to race Futures (I believe, right?) this is an insane pro debut. He easily had the speed for a podium - maybe Smith was a bit faster but he tipped over and still got to 3rd. He was 20th after lap 2 when Deegan was already 17th. Getting up to 8th is pretty damn impressive for a rookie

I didn’t realize he climbed all the way from dead back, that’s a really impressive debut wow
I mentioned it in another thread but I agree the kid is going to win a championship. His technique is really good and you can see the speed comes natural and he isn’t rushing it. I got a new rider to keep tabs on which is awesome
Futures needs to be rethought. All the kids winning it are ready to race the pros, especially now that they got rid of the point out rule. Deegs was supposed to ride it, he was ready, Adam’s is ready, Davies was supposed to ride it, he was ready…

I feel that Adams is being held back for no good reason, he would do just fine. Maybe he will ride some west coast rounds since Levi is out…
Hopefully between Cole's race and Levi's sickness it's a wake-up call to get Drew Adams racing next weekend. Drew is as fast or faster than Cole, going off last year at least.
I was watching Davies from the edge of the track during timed qualifying, and his stance on the bike and corner burst speed is really, really good. I heard somewhere Cole is the fastest guy at the Yamaha track next to Deegan.
Yamaha did the right thing and let him race the west instead of SX futures this year - he could be the 2026 East or West SX champion if he keeps riding like he did Saturday.

History is replete with fast kids who get tossed into the pros too early, don’t do as well as expected and never really recover from it, there’s absolutely no rush for these guys when they’re 16-18
I forget who on the broadcast said it, but the kid just looks so good technically speaking. Looks like he isn't wasting any energy and looks like a vet already. Plus the kids looks EXACTLY like Reedy when he has his helmet on. Same eyes and brow. Almost creepy lol Definitely looking forward to seeing his progression.

Someone mentioned Ernesto Fonseca, and I can see the similarity in their styles.
Stoked to have a kiwi to cheer for up front, been a while. Kid has a very good foundation, kudos to those who have been in his corner before the spotlight.
Last year in futures he did pretty well. At Anaheim, he looked like a completely different rider. He looked really good. Love his riding style too. I would not be surprised if he made his way on the podium.
The kid is gonna be good...I think there is a Championship in him further down the road.

I definitely think a podium is in this kids future this season!

If he gets a good start he podiums. A good start and a few breaks, he’s got the speed to win.
This kid looks like he’s gonna be sporting a red plate pretty damn soon.
He’s awesome to watch and I’m stoked that Star picked him up. It’s also really cool that we’ve got another fast-assed Kiwi! 🥝
I agree, I loved me some BT. Man was he fun to watch.
Loved seeing the number one hunnit out there. Kid has style
Smart too. Chose not to get aggro with Deegan in their heat. Other teammates weren’t that smart in the past.
I think he will be thinking ' i can be second here' every week.
Looked very efficient. And smooth
He just looked great on the bike, too. Looked like he could hold that pace for hours.
Very impressive. Especially considering Gavin Towers, who Cole got second to in futures, went through the LCQ and ended up like 18th.
I think Coles technique is a strong foundation. Kid looks like he's effortlessl floating around the track.

I ain’t gay, but damn he looked good out there!!!
Pit Row
The next BT!! Fast!!

I'm bummed he had to cut his mullet off.

So impressive. I would not be surprised to see him land a podium this year.
And now him and drew Adams lining up? West could actually get interesting now.

Yep, I was impressed👍
His riding position and posture so much different from other rookies. Never heard about him but he gonna be one of top guys really soon.
