Alpinestars Tech Air MX (My First Ride)

Went to charge my tech air and nothing is happening. Plugged it in and nothing. Buckled it on and nothing. Have you guys had this issue? I have it plugged in now but nothing is happening. 

Are you sure the inside switch did not get turned off.

It's turned on. I power-cycled it just to troubleshoot. Still nothing. 

I just picked one up today. Any NoVA riders looking for one, Motorcycles of Dulles has three left. Sizes M, L, and XL. 

Ive had no issues with mine. First time I had a deployment was yesterday. Caught a knarly rut at this gncc like regional with shitty track prep and went flyin. Worked perfectly. Zero complaints. 

Wore mine for the first time today on a trail ride with some buddies. 80's and very humid and lot of slow speed technical stuff kinda hard enduro-ish and really the heat was no issue.  I felt a little warm on my back but the chest was zero issue.  Had some higher speed stuff too and great airflow.  Had a few little tip overs and didn't go off (which it shouldn't).  I ran it in the enduro setting.  

Is there maybe dirt in the port?  I assume you made sure the charger itself is working too?  Check all connections on the harnesses too. Some cable ends are a little too fat to fit in there as well.  

Welp, blew another one yesterday. This time it was an instance where I dont believe I needed it. I was attempting a last corner pass by railing the outside line and I tucked the front. I can't complain about it because it did what it was supposed to but the extra $220 on the weekend hurts a little lol. 

Are you on MX Race setting?

I’ve had no deployments yet and I’ve had nothing but tip overs thankfully. My son had a good one a few months back and the airbag worked great. A few weeks after that he had a minor tip over and it deployed. Checking after I had repacked and recharged it was on mx mode not mx race. No idea how but check to make sure it hasn’t switched modes inadvertently.

Good point. I will check that it's still on race mode after deployment. 

Trivia question, anyone updated the software lately? Trying to update mine since it says new software is available. Says ‘sending data’ but seems stuck at 2%. Yes, it is on charge. Anyone seen this? 

edit: Unplugged and restarted everything and it eventually worked. 

I had the exact same scenario with mine. Just was stuck at the initial 2% stage when updating.  Basically rebooted everything and then it worked like a charm.

The QR bit didn't want to work with my app, but typing in the serial # and it linked up right away. I'm using a Samsung XCover Pro running older Android v13 which was probably the issue.

Haven't had it blow on me yet, but so far only mild tip overs. No big hits yet. I use it on MX Race when on the track and Rally when off it. It's pretty comfy, and once on and riding I don't notice the weight or any airflow issues.

1st off road race with it I wore it under a rally jacket (camelback built into the coat) as you aren't supposed to wear a backpack with it. Will be experimenting with other drink setups through the summer.

Just bought the tech air and im super excited to use it. Figured now would be the best time because i had a 8 month break off the bike due to acl surgery and i'm gaining my speed back now and i'm a tad sketchy so i hope this will be good insurance for my body.

The main battery cable on my vest was disconnected. Have no idea how it happened. Rode with it two weeks ago and it was working. Maybe I threw my gear bag out of the truck? Idk. But it's working now. 

I believe it's standard for it to change back to factory setting. Pretty sure mine did. BC AQ I tipped over right onto my butt and luckily it didn't deploy. Gets expensive quick!
