I rode my mates 2002 the other day, and it reminded me of how good they were.

Like me, he's got his 2002 model bike (mine's the 2001/02 CRE500) as a 'Keeper'. So, it's sporting modified suspension - RM98(?) conventional 50s,  an Ohlins shock, and (I Think) a KX Swingarm of some sort, modern brakes, with a pipe and other subtle mods to the engine.

It's a wonderful thing, meticulously maintained, and gives away nothing to even late model 2T enduro bikes at the pace of a very competent ex 'A' grader that he is, and, an old doofus such as I .

I'll put in the almost inevitable 'thing' of how Kawasaki could sell quite a few 200s / 220 in this day and age, if they were to bring them back. Just a few modern, In Stock Suspension parts and say, Brakes, and it would be what a lot of people would want.

Not Going To Happen, of course.

Sweet 2hun, I had an '89 that dominated on 70 mile all day mtn loops.

Today for my 200SX, I ran a STIC carb meter block in a 38mm PWK and now their Super X carb. The smaller bores get exceptional low to mid power with an extended stronger top end. Pretty much a 'day and night' contrast in power level. Strong enough that for MX I run the slowest turn G2 throttle cam, as to make it not too sketchy. Low end is seemingly unstoppable, yet top end is like having another gear.
