paddyB745 Added a reply to 2024 KX450 to a 2025 KX250?

I’m about the same weight and skill, 6ft tall on a 21 KX250. I think it’s fine for a guy our size and skill level. At that level I don’t think starts will be a big issue, most guys on the gate can’t use the full power of a 450 anyways. I’ve had 450’s, 250 2 strokes, 125’s and this...

What really helped me was getting a hands free hydration system so I can constantly be sipping water throughout the race with the tube right into my helmet. They’re pretty cheap and easy to set up. You can get a kit from USWE on Rocky Mountain I believe that’s where I got mine. Eat clean as much as you can...

I did the CC fork swap on my 17 TC250. The spring fork felt a lot more planted and more consistent for me. It’s a pretty straightforward swap as well, you just need a front wheel off an older model with the bigger axle. I rode moto and woods with the same settings and it worked great for me.

I have a 21 and it’s been pretty solid for about 80hrs. Did a piston and cam chain around 40hrs just because I wanted a high comp but the stock stuff was still perfect. Adjusted the valves once. I’m pretty good about my maintenance and I don’t ride it terribly hard, mid pack 30 B guy. If I were to...

Is the overflow hose plugged? If that’s plugged then it’ll just back up into that vent.
I’ve had a lot of Kawasakis and I’d say the biggest issue I’ve had is losing seat bolts and the miscellaneous shroud/side plate bolts occasionally. The chain rollers/guide are better now but still not the greatest. If that’s the biggest issue then I’ll take that all day. I’ve had a ‘16 450 that was bulletproof and I’m on a ‘21...

The benefit of the tool is the gauges. 1 to regulate air into your cylinder, you don’t want too much pressure. And the second gauge shows you the percentage of air lost (IE if you blow 100 psi in and it’s holding at 90 you’re at 10% leak down which is fine and hard to hear.) If something’s really leaking...
You need a leak down tool. Similar to a compression tester. Threads into spark plug hole, has a set of gauges one to regulate air and one that tells you how much pressure is lost. You hook it up to a compressor while engine is at TDC and you listen for air leaking. If it’s coming out of your exhaust...

I’m 190lbs and I’m on the stock fork springs and went up one rate on the shock. Been working great for me after a revalve. Stock was too stiff for my liking and a lot of it had to do with the valving IMO. I tried softer springs with stock valving and it was OK but once I got it...
