The actual pan is the stump jumper. Instead of a blunt strike against the shaft of the gearbox, if you hit a sizeable stump/obstacle, that pan causes the entire mower to 'jump' over the obstacle. Of course mounted blades on a pivot-pin will fold and yield to a large object instead of passing that shock load to the gearbox, but the 'stump jumper' word comes from the pan itself allowing you to go over obstacles instead of breaking off - or bending - the output shaft on the gearbox.

That’s a pretty wide net. Most left of center voters do not want Trump dead, just as most right of center voters didnt want Biden dead (despite several Vital posters stating that’s exactly what they wanted).
