Countdown to Supercross 8

Thanksgiving's here, and that can only mean one thing...well, besides tryptophan overload...it's that things are seriously heating up at Supercross tracks. Riders are getting their sponsors and programs dialed, are tuning up their skills before the season launches in a few weeks. In some cases, they're still testing parts and pieces, or putting their signatures on contracts.

Milestone MX in Riverside, CA, has been one of the tracks of choice for a lot of privateers, and also factory guys looking for a change of scenery between sessions at their own tracks. Here's a peek at what's been going on there recently.

Nick Wey stretching out over the finish line jump at Milestone. Nick's doing the Mafia Moto Crew program again this year, and as far as we know, there's still some prime sponsorship real estate available on the side of his hauler.

Trainers have been busy, like Buddy Antunez, who we spotted working with Weston Peick (shown), and Austin Burns.

Motosports.com and Trust Implants (they make dental implants) are two big new components of Weston Peick's program.

CycleTrader.com is the new title sponsor for the Rock River Powersports Yamaha motocross racing team.

Ben LaMay will be back with the CycleTrader.com/Rock River Yamaha team, and will be joined by Alex Martin, Greg Gehrer, and one other rider.

Austin Burns will be working on year two of Supercross action.

BTO Sports/KTM's Matt Goerke working on his starts. Funny moment? Watching the GEICO Honda guys turning over his wallet to some of the Factory KTM crew (who were doing a private session on the back track) for a safe return.

Jake Canada is on the 5150 Energy Drink team, and was putting in solid 15-lap sessions.

Vince Friese will likely do some 450 West races, but is concentrating on the 250 East series again. Factory Metal Works will be a big supporter of his program.

Michael Leib was deep into some suspension work while we were watching at Milestone. He'll be looking at the 250 West series again.

Wil Hahn and the GEICO Honda crew have been busy getting him dialed in and comfortable on the 450.

Jeff Ward was working with Jason Anderson on his start technique. Chris Loreto (right) has been bouncing around lately, working with Mike Alessi, Nick Wey, and with Jason here.

Jason Anderson, nice 'n smooth out of the gate.

There were a couple surprises out there, like seeing Sayaka Kaneshiro working on her Supercross technique.

We'll be keeping our eyes on the tracks over the next few weeks, as we ramp up towards the start of the Monster Energy Supercross series.
