I have had an account on here for a few years now but never kept up with anything. College life hit so I stopped riding but I got addicted to looking at build threads on here so I broke down, sold my mint rmz250, and bought a yz. I had a 2006 rm250 for awhile but sold it. I wanted another two stoke that was a little newer though so that's what led me to this bike!

I bought the bike a couple of weeks ago, I don't have many pictures but I'll have to upload some more soon.

Bought it from a 16-17 year old kid who rode it on the street and trails near his house. He put anywhere from 15 to 20 hours on it riding up and down on the asphalt. The bike didn't have any major problems. The kid used way too much oil in the gas so there was build up on the exhaust and some near the head. I have already ordered and received some parts to freshen up the bike, which I am currently in the process of doing now.

I am currently in college over an hour away from my house so I don't have the ability to finish the bike up as soon as I would like but plan on having the motor done this weekend then all I will have left is the general look of the bike.

Parts ordered:
Wiseco top end kit- in the process of finishing
Cycra plastics
Mika oversize CR low handlebars
New front and rear tires

The above list will get bigger of course but this is just for now.

Here are a couple more pictures to show where I am currently. Got a silencer and a works pipe with the bike as well. I repacked and polished the silencer but the pipe was beat up too bad.

Before you throw out that pipe, check out piperepair.com they have made some pretty bad pipes look brand new.

Around how much do they charge usually? I haven't even bothered with trying to get the dents out or get the rust off so I'll end up trying to but if they aren't too bad on prices I'll have to look into that

I sent my RM pipe to piperepair.com and they did a fantastic job, looked brand new from when I got it back. I think I payed around 120 for repair and "works" finish. My only issue is they took forever to send it back to me. I got an email saying it was done and was shipped and it did not actually get shipped for like a week and a half. I tried to call them and did not get an answer. Quality of work was a 10...quickness of shipping once finished was a 0. Will I send pipes back to them in the future? Yes, more than likely

I appreciate it! I'll have to look into it because the prices don't look too bad

I follow pipe repair on IG and yeah they do some unreal work, i'd love to send them my KTM Doma pipe but I think after shipping to the states and back it wouldn't be worth it.

Finished the basics so far. Had a little trouble here and there but overall it wasn't too bad to rebuild and clean the bike up. Planning on plenty more parts soon, but for now, its simple and feels great!
Its hard for me to get used to a two stroke again, plus its a Yamaha compared to a Suzuki like I had a couple years ago.
Nothing was done to the suspension but that is at the top of my list next.
Hope you all enjoy the pictures from its "maiden" voyage
