Seeing as this thing is only a handful of days (waiting on UPS as we always do), I just had to share. Pretty pumped on where this thing has come from. I feel the name "Gutless Wonder" was fitting for the new smoker.

Day one, picked it up in the pouring rain, started it, didn't even need to ride it around, I knew it was my perfect candidate. 2004 RM125, still had the stock rubbers on it.

Stripped the bike down immediately, and worked on carb cleaning. Motor was perfectly tight and healthy, left the top end alone for now.

Ride Engineering and 707 Racing Suspension came through with an aggressive 20mm offset for the new Gutless Wonder, and the install went flawlessly. The clamps are built for an RM/RMZ and are ready for either fender. Once the Acerbis Plastic kit arrived (huge thanks to MX1West), I had to toss all the goodies on so I could begin to see what the final bike might look like. Of course, all the Works Connection Bling was added and Pro Tapers installed.

Nice, whats the plans for it?
I'll have everything posted shortly. Im leaving the motor untouched as it's still so crispy. I'll port the motor down the road, no big bore or anything. Mainly make it a great handling, smile-giving two smoker!

The stock wheels on the bike were nothing shy of an absurdity. Spokes were clearly never checked, resulting in a pretty good wobble both front and rear. Needless to say, the bike is 13 years old, and a weeks worth of penetrating oil wouldn't free up the nipples. Bolt cutters made quick work of that (a IPA or two may have encouraged the split decision, if I'm honest). Took the hubs straight to UPS the next day to be sent out to TCR Wheels for some mag coating and new DID ST-X's. Long story short, picked the wheels up and found out the mag black coating I though we were going to use on the hubs, was incorrect. Mag color was used instead. The drive home was full of slight curse words debating the new color that I was now stuck with, until I held them up to the bike. Yup, magnesium colored hubs were definitely the best mistake that could have happened to this bike.

And yes... that may be a 280mm Galfer Rotor. Can you say "Late Brake"??

Linkage and Swing Arm were good from far, but far from good. The tear appart revealed seals that had their outer lip torn, and bearings that were just nasty. Brake clean and Bel-Ray grease is a good friend of mine, and was used to salvage all the bearings in the shock, linkage, and swing arm. Seals were smoked, and replacements are in the mail and should be here later this week.

Next, 707 Racing Suspension!! Forks and Shock were dropped off to Joel for his full treatment. A spa day may be an understatement as again, the bike is 13 years old. Original oil was drained, seals replaced, and everything was given the special 707 magic to make this thing off-road machine. As mainly an off-road cross country guy, who loves stiff and aggressive suspension, Joel took all into play and came back with a setup ready for moto and cross-country. I've owned another 2004 RM125, and let me tell you, the previous setup that Joel did was astonishing. Can't wait to see what the new revalving will bring.

Finally, continued cleaning and pressing the bike out. Bolted all the remaining parts up, and am now waiting on the delivery man. Fork guards, clutch and ignition covers, chain block and sliders, brake line clamps, and a few other tid-bits are the last to come. Decal MX is working on a proof for the graphics, which will be pretty simple, with just the Suzuki logo and the old rising sun. Now, I'm stuck here drooling over the bike, itching to throw a leg over it.

Mikejones202 It wasn't cheap. Just shy of a grand before tires. But as mentioned before, I didn't have a bunch of options as the spokes were locked up.

Cast lines were removed today from the dogbone and linkage, ups will be here with everything except graphics and fork guards today. Yes, that's right, FORK GUARDS. Angry
Any who... couple of pics of the progress and a little sneak peak of what's to come visually Woohoo

Apparently I have a thing against casting lines now, and I continued onto the forks. Extra cast bolt holes were removed, cast lines filed flush and the finished. I'm extremely satisfied with the final product. Really made the fork lowers look much more modern and less bulky. They always were IMO.

Before (Another RM in the garage, but same fork):

File file file. Start with something coarsa and work my way to fine. Hit it with the wire wheel, steel wool, and then a tad of mothers aluminum polish.

I hear ya there. This was my end of a major project present to myself. We all need it right! Just the time to ride is the issue. I've been bird dogging the KTM. can't wait to see what's in store.

Everything came in and mounted all pieces and graphics up. Spent probably two hours finessing the number plates to figure out the perfect cut. Everything ended up perfectly level, evenly cut, and gave the bike a MEAN looking, updated look. Had a great friend of mine swing by the house and he snagged some pictures with his camera. Im still in love!

Sick, I like how you kept the colors simple with just black and yellow
