Yes. They have very low hours.
It’s a great deal. I’m only selling because I got another set of forks.

Buyers beware. Factory Dick got me for $325 and sold me clamps that aren’t a direct fit for my bike when he confirmed they were.

Dont buy factory clamps without doing your own research.

You did get the clamps. They do fit your bike. Several have told you how to make them work as is with shims one even said he’d make them for you, or suggested forks off a newer 450’which will save weight and bolt right up.

Or just sell the clamps, likely make some money and move on.

You’re acting like you sent him 325 and he never sent you anything at all, and said get fooked.

Geezus man. I asked him twice if they’d fit. I looked at his history on here and it seemed great and a long history. He knew upfront that I wasn’t well versed in the details and sold them to me anyway. I took him for his word. You’d think a vet in this scene would be more forthcoming than this and especially to a newcomer. Educating a newcomer goes a long way. Keeps them in this scene. Keeps them buying parts. Keeps them buying gear. Keeps them going to tracks. Keeps them buying bikes. All good things for everyone here.

True. I updated my comment.

I looked into the shims and seems they are so far off that it isn’t safe. But I am looking into it.

But because I can spend more money and modify the setup to fit puts me in the wrong? He told me they would fit and they don’t. In that case, damn near any part will fit. Just need to spend money to make it fit.

So from the picture you posted earlier..looks to be an hrc clamp..not sure what one you bought. But when it comes to hrc clamps. There are many different sizes. Also these parts are called “works” cause you have to work to make them work...what are the diameters of the clamps and your current forks?

I don’t think you’re in the wrong, but I think if you can sell them for as much as you’re into them for, and move on, it’ll be a hell of a lot easier than the crusade you’re currently on.

I don’t know the factory dick guy at all. If I had to bet he’s a bit older, or at the very least not the least bit interested in being computer savvy, judging by his sale posts lacking any type of descriptions or structure to them. Not saying that rids him of blame, but seems he struggles to communicate thru text.

Just guessing like I said.

But if you can list them, make a decent ad, they’ll sell surely and you can move on and get back to buying things, and loving the sport. It’s why we’re here.

If he didn’t send you anything and said get fooked, bet your ass you’d have a lot of backup and pitchforks out to get him.

I can do that, you’re right. But I shouldn’t have to. I’m not a fan of being treated this way by him but you’re definitely right and that I should just take the easier road.

I’d say you’re accurate with that. I would assume the same.

Agreed. I’ll go that route once I know for sure that running sleeves is unsafe or not advised.

I was expecting more support and will likely close my thread. I was hoping bringing light to the situation would get him to do the right thing but I guess not. I appreciate the guidance man.

I’ll take some measurements and list them on my for sale ad once I get one up and going.
