35 shipped new fork ring mounted on fork then took off never used it or mounted button.

It is, I have a unique set up showa a kit forks on a crf and I run the older style sx ktm wrap around fork guards for more protection to the lower green fork legs. I needed a ring that the bolt is at the front of the ring as if it's at the rear it hits the fork guard. I bought this to try to get it to work but the ring mounts to far down on the upper tube and hits the guard.

Makes sense, could you take the id measurement with the ring fully closed? See if it'll work with the yam kyb fork.
