All tasteful choices, professional without being excessive. Only one thing: I rotatated the front brake cable as the newer models, from 2004 onwards

Great build! I had one of these bikes from 01 to 03. I had Eric Gorr do a basic port job on the cylinder and god damn, it was a complete animal. If he's still around, that's the best money you can spend on that specific motor. It was a great bike, I wish I still had it. The mid-range power was amazing. Keep up the great work.

Got my radiator back from Myler's. Unfortunately they kept the grommets to mount it to the frame. While I search for some new grommets, I decided to trim the side panels. There aren't really any pictures of how guys do it so I decided to take some pic of how I did it. I just took some tape and taped off where I want to cut the panel. Then cut it with a dremel. I tried to keep the speed low to avoid actually melting the plastic. It melted a little bit. Then I took some sand paper and just smoothed out the edges. Pretty stoked with how they turned out. If I can get some grommets from a local dealer, goal is to get the tank on by the end of the weekend.

Can you post a picture of how you rotated the brake cable? Kind of interested in this. I don't really like how it is on the front of the fork since I feel like a deep rut or rock could destroy that brake line how it sits stock.

Use 2007 front fork guard, a shorter brake cable and turns it inside the fork

Nice, I will have to look into it!

Finished the bike up last weekend. Here are some final pics. I'm pretty stoked with how it came out.

Went to start it and couldn't get it to idle. After tearing the carb apart, I noticed the needle was actually broken in the top. The carb that is on the bike is a PWK 38mm AirStryker and finding that needle was a pain! Nonetheless, I got it back together last night and looking to start it up this weekend.

I am having an issue getting the rear brake to have enough pressure to press the pads to the rotor. The pad touches the rotor but not enough to stop the rear wheel from spinning. I also already rebuilt the rear master cylinder so I know that shouldn't be an issue. The 2001 had a plastic reservoir for the brake fluid and a diaphragm in it. I noticed the 03+ incorporates the brake fluid container inside of the metal housing, just all like new bikes today. Does anyone know of there are any compatible rear master cylinders I could swap out? I've been searching on line and can't seem to find anything. I might try to get a MityMite and try to bleed the brakes that way, but I am kind of scratching my head at this one.

Any update? How's she ride?
Hey!

Sorry man I thought I had posted a follow up to this but I guess not. So I got a brake bleeder from harbor freight and that solved my rear brake issue. Went to Perris Raceway out here in Cali and on the first lap, I instantly had no rear brake. I pulled off the track and realized the rear brake line had cracked on the swing arm and brake fluid was everywhere. I guess the line was dry-rotted from the inside out and after one jump it just broke. Riding without a rear brake is one thing on a fourstroke, but man on a two stroke it is a whole different beast! My right arm was so pumped up after riding that day! I went ahead and bought a braided line for both the front and rear, as well as Ride Engineering's front brake fork wrap around kit to get rid of the under the fork style the 2001 has. I'm still messing with the jetting a little bit because I have a PWK Air Stryker carb on there. But all in all, the bike runs and handles great! Next step is to try out some of the Pro Taper EVO bars to try to lower the vibration at the handlebars and go up a few teeth in the rear sprocket because I am having a hard time staying the sweet spot to get out of the corners. I only have about 3 hours of ride time on the bike, but it is an absolute blast to ride!
