I'm no vital god or anything but I've owned YZ450s from 2003 - 2009 and the 2007 did not turn as well as the 2008 or 2009. It also would not hold a line and wanted to crawl up out of ruts, I just couldn't get it to settle. Was glad to jump on the 2008 and it was a dream.

I should add that there were many good, cheap fixes for modifying the offset and working with the 2007. If you can get it cheap enough then buy it, over all it's a solid ride that has a bullet proof engine.

Love the 5 valve.

I don't think the 08 had any chassis changes from the 07. 09 got a new swingarm and that was a marked improvement in handling.

Yeah, no major changes 'till the 2010 model. Maybe the loose nut behind the handlebars was causing the bike to "crawl" up out of ruts!
The YZ450 is a great bike. If you can get a good deal on it; even better...

In 08 they changed the frame slightly. I believe it was in the neck of the frame. It may have been a small change, but it made a huge differences in the way the bike handled. My 08 handled way better than my 06.

Yes on the 08. Just handles better than the 07. Both are great bikes. I miss my 08. Slim compared to my 15 yz450. Power spot on with a dr d pipe

Well guys here it is. Picked it up for $1500. It's in pretty decent shape. The valves need adjusted so that will be taken care of first. Needs a few little things like front wheel bearings and brake pads. Otherwise it will clean up good with a little bit of aluminum acid and elbow grease.

Will definitely look into that when I get the valves done. Thanks.

Rode my buddies 07 Yam 450 a few weeks ago, that use to be mine 4 years ago. I turn the same lap times on that, as I do on my 13 and 17 bikes. I should have kept that 07, and would have saved $20,000 that I've spent on these so called better, and newer bikes Unsure

If the engine is sound that's a good deal anywhere

06-09 yz450f engine is damn good. Jet it right and watch the cam chain. It starts to kink after 30 hours.

I had an 06. Bought it in 13 with 3 hours on it. Rode it for 2 years, and sold it. It was great. Spectacular motor, great suspension. Only reason I got rid of it was because I got an offer that made me some money.
