Is that the WR/FX skidplate ? If so it will not.

Why is that? I was just looking at a monster edition on a dealer floor today and it had me sporting wood! The regular one beside it looked very plain Jane by comparison,.
Do the monsters just look shit after you've ridden them a few timex or something?

A lot of guys just don't want a giant monster logo on their bike. To me the monster edition looks more like a fmx bike than a proper moto bike.
Monster ain't helping me then i ain't running their logo, especially not going to pay more for it.
Yeah, I get it...Im not into energy drinks either but I do realise that without the energy drinks the top end of our sport would be left without any big dollar sponsorship and would therefore be pretty much screwed, so I would be happy enough to buy a monster edition 250f. I think it looks beautiful on the show room floor but suspect it might look a bit ordinary once it gets scuffed up..
I have that new bike urge again...Id like a new 125, but not until I see if the new yz 125 rumour is real...not holding my breath..
Rode several laps on a brand new 2019 yz 250 f when they first came out and was amazed..my 20 model 450 is incredible, but honestly its too much for me...
Really love my Yamaha's..

Serious question, am I the only one who doesn't dislike the intake noise?

I may just be typically predisposed to like induction noise courtesy of playing with cars for years.

From what I have seen, many people started wearing ear plugs because of it. Personally, it never bothered me. You get used to it.

Why wouldn’t the WR skid plate fit? Most of my parts I’ve been ordering for my ‘20 WR have been the same part numbers for the 19-21 YZF.

Did the frame drastically change in ‘21?

Any of you guys still waiting for your bike to come in? Mine is supposed to be in sometime this month. I cant believe these dealers cant track these bikes better. I ordered a truck back in February and I tracked it every step of the way, including the shipping.

I heard it riding to the track in the pits the first time I rode it and haven’t noticed it since.

Got everything installed so far. Just need some time to ride it. Hopefully next Saturday I can take it out.

Ive pondered wearing ear plugs. To me, its not THAT loud, I mean its defintely louder than the Honda I had but not unbearable. And im on the limiter a lot so its making noise lol. I just dont like giving up my ability to hear faster traffic coming up behind me so I go so open ears. But I do feel bad for people directly behind me or anyone behind a YZ250F, its the loudest bike to sit behind imo

I love the intake noise and raspy sound of the stock exhaust. Gives me a stiffy every time I crack the throttle Laughing

Anyone have good maps for the PNW? I ran keefers maps in eastern washington and they were good. They run like shit on the coast though, having better luck with MXAs maps but it still isnt very clean.

Thinking about trying stock map again, never really gave that one a shot.

Spend $75 and have it remapped by Tokyo mods for your location. Or spend $600 and buy a vortex snd have it mapped by twisted development and you will see large gains on the bike.

It doesn't even bother me, to be honest. I never really noticed it as an annoyance or consider it to be that big of a deal. I ran the Cycra Powerflow should/airbox set-up on my previous-gen model and on my '21 I have the No Toil cage-less set-up and it never even crosses my mind. It's weird that so many people complain about it, since to me I don't even think about it. The exhaust, I can at least understand, since it is very loud and raspy. But the intake noise seems like way less of an annoyance. I actually like how the bike sounds, in general and it doesn't annoy me, personally.

Did you try the tokyo mod remap? If so can you talk about how it affected the motor? Curious... Have a 2020 250FX and if it makes it run a little stronger I'm game... )

Having the stock remap makes the bike run cleaner. If you were to buy the vortex this is where you will see pretty good gains. The vortex will increase bottom end while extending the power range and over-rev. Much better money spent over a pipe at first. They can tailor the power as well to your liking.

Nothing on a pipe. Do FMF and PC have ANY sales right now? I understand demand has spiked but it seems like there is zero supply. Where are the products they are building going?

there is the FMF slip on for $679 on EBAY.

Anyway, I'm not in a hurry it just seems interesting.

I was told no raw materials. It’s crazy! I’ll gladly buy a used one haha

Talk to Donn Lieb at Rocket Exhaust. He does great work and can personalize the power you like.

Pipes been sold out all 2021 here in EU.
If you are lucky you can get one if small local shop has them laying back of their warehouse but not online anywhere.
For 450f there are some left but local shop told ones for yz/wr250f are coming later in small amount.

Any lighter riders out there? My son is maybe 130lbs (and eats a freakin ton!). Any recommendations on suspension?

I know my friend waited a bit to get a FMF for his KTM 150 and basically couldn't find a PC anywhere. I was in no rush to get one for my YZF, but I'm not shocked that they are hard to come by.

I destroyed a pair of Tech 10s on my 2020 250 because of the header protector when i kept getting stuck on it coming into lefthand turns, and a friend of mine did the same with his 2019. It's a horrible design, i can't understand how the Yamaha test riders haven't had the same issues and fixed it yet.

This was my ghettomod solution for it. See the black steel plate, not pretty but it beats ruining expensive boots every other week.

I just bought a 2020 and I had the same issue. After a lap I took the heat shield off but it slightly melted my boot. I’m thinking about buying an aftermarket full system exhaust on down the road & wonder if that would make a difference for the header to not interfere with the left boot.

It will interfere, best solution I found was carbon covers from Pro Carbon.

Interesting, on my 450 I've melted a hole in 2 pairs of pants on my left leg, the leather patch needs to be bigger. Never had issues with the boot catching though.

It's a 250F thing, i had a 18 and 19 450 and didn't experience the same issue as with the 2020 250F.

Same with my SG12s. Zero problems. My old GX1s got hooked up 3 times. Once in the air so that was a good scare
