Took my Dog for a walk round an old long forgotten, grassed over Motocross track on my lunch break today and I know some of you on here, like me love these old forgotten tracks, be they former GP/National tracks, club tracks or merely well ridden practice tracks I have seen various posts on here including talk and photos on tracks, favourites being Carlsbad and Saddleback park in the US and Namur on my side of the pond so I thought it was time for a thread dedicated to these parcels of land that once echoed to the sound of battle but now hold no more than ghostly glimpses into moto past, a discarded tear off once nervously applied on a Sunday morning now weather beaten and crinkled in the mud or an old start line pointing towards a now non exsistent first turn....
Show us all your local ghost tracks.

Crick, not used for around 15 years....

I like "abandoned and forgotten" subjects - especially this one. There is a website out there regarding this subject, but last time I looked at it, it too appeared abandoned and forgotten. Great pictures. More please!

Steel City. Hasn't been that long, but not much of trace left.

We walked Troy, OH a long time ago after the National died. It was so weird to be in the same place and have it just look like a normal field...

Wow, that's quite the change.... if ever a photo were needed to prove that we are not leaving permanent scars on the landscape... keep em coming people.

Are you talking about the website 28 days later? I believe that site is very active.

I have no pictures but anyone that lives in Kent, England may have seen or ridden the track that was just past the Sittingborne junction on the M2. You can still see the table top with the tunnel underneath it. Just been left as it was the last time it was used. Not sure when the last time it was used but I rode it in the late 90's, stoney as hell.

IIRC, Steel City was closed because of "impact" on a local water reservoir. I believe it was several years working to prove no impact and the fight became too costly/difficult.

Do you know the website actual name or link? 28 days later is the first if two movies with 28 weeks later following.

Amazing how fast the weeds can transform a property, from treasure to trash

That was a cool place but I forgot why they closed. They had a supermoto track, drag strip, MX track and probably more.

The old 125cc USGP and Trans-AMA track called Mid-Ohio in Lexington... All's that is the rise of the old starting gate pad and the old farmhouse behind it, plus an abandoned concession stand....

that

Do you recall the previous Crick track that was used in the 90's before this one? Think it's been built on now, was a big track with some big hills used for nationals.

I see these pics and I immediately want to crack a fresh beer and play the music called " taps ". Shed a little tear as well.

Looks like its ready for a new one. I miss that place so much. Dam it looks like someone built a house on the SX track.

I go past that track most days, I think I rode the last day there in 2002 I think, but it got a bit scarey , was a big 4 wheel drive thing on there at the same time as the bikes!
The one that got me started was the illegal one at Cobham mausoleum, on any Sunday there might have been up to 50 bikes of any type , stolen cars and trikes all going in different directions as fast as they could through the woods with lots of people watching getting drunk and having fires! Needless to say the ambulances made regular visits! It's a nature reserve now and I should imagine if one bike was to go there now it would turn into a major police incident ! Lol

Here is a google maps view of the old Hondaland in Simi Valley. I circled the two horseshoes that went up the hill and a few of the tracks that you can still make out across the road.

Hate looking at this, I'd do anything to to ride the old layout, wish I would of known it was going away, would of been nice to have one last ride.

Steel city was good, I was lucky enough to ride there amateur day when the last national was held, it's also the same place I saw my first National in person, it is sadly missed.
