My father in law got rear ended in his motohome/car hauler rig, and his pickup on the car hauler smoked his ruckus' (ruckui?) That were on the trailer in front of the truck. So the insurance bought him 2 new ones and now I've got two wrecked scooters.

I'm hoping that someone here can help me: has anyone ever modded a ruckus? An engine mount on the case is broken so I think I'll have to build a custom mount and effectively rigid mount the motor..... but would like some insight.

Any input is appreciated!

I have one! there's about a million things you can do to them! I got hit by a jeep on mine, actually the dickhead ran it over with his jeep as I jumped off and the frame got twisted and popped the radiator! But whatever you need I can surely help! Mine does a solid 48-50mph and it's all stretched and modded and what not. I'll post a pic of it later!

Ok perfect! So here's my problem. That engine mount ear on the radiator side broke off the case. I'm thinking of making a mount that will go from the main frame under the seat to the bottom plate on the engine that the stand is on. That would support the engine.... but it wouldn't pivolt....

Yeah that'll be a tough one. The thing that sucks is that the ruckus only has three mounting points, the two in front and the one on the shock. Those cases are aluminum so you might be able to have someone weld the ear back on!

First thing before you even fix the engine mounts is to have the suspension revalved.

I have an '04. It's been getting progressively harder to start. I've been reading on the Ruckus forums that the intake valve adjustment is to blame. I haven't ripped into it yet but summer is here and I need to get her back on the road. Have you guys done valve shimming on yours?

Yes had to do it on a couple very easy to do! The rocker arm has a spring built into it so you don't even have to remove the cam bridge to get to it! very awesome!

Buy one of the many 150 engines that pretty much bolt right in for a couple of hundred dollars. You're welcome in advance........

Just a heads up, to do it correctly with a known gy6 engine and the correct makoa wiring harness, plus the rear wheel, plus the stretch kit to make the engine bolt correctly, etc.. it gets very expensive if you want it done the right way! It's more than a couple hundred dollars. Keep the Stock GET Honda engine, more reliable than most of the Chinese garbage, and the 150 only does about 5 more mph than me. My ruckus has 5k on the odometer and I haven't had a single problem yet! Stick with the stock engine for reliability! You'll thank me in the long run! If you want to go faster, buy a real motorcycle!

That's kinda what I was finding. I think I'll do a rigid mount then put the seat on an airbag or springs..... It'll be custom, but at least it will be the stock engine and drive train the way it was designed.

I have one, soon as I got it I started modding it. Has a 150cc motor, only stock part left is the frame and plastic.
All my parts either came from DorbyWorks, Rucksters, or PasswordJDM. I'll post some photos later. Basically the sky is he limit.

Mine tops out at about 78mph via GPS. But it's made to get around the city. I use the real bike for regular riding.

I've been thinking of doing the engine swap on mine but I'm not too keen on how the stretch looks. If you want any info on how to mod your seat frame let me know.

I got a little wild today....

Hey Sixeightone, what went into your airbox removal? There are so many vent hoses and BS cluttering up the engine I would love to route them all down and take the airbox off....

Alright, got it back together. This thing is literally half one scoot and half the other. Minus the PC 304 of course..... Evil
