Yo, Danny Laporte is the man! Bro. When I was a 21 year old knucklehead racing the Kawasaki Race of Champions in the 125 novice class, Danny Laporte sat and talked with my dad and I for an hour. I had no idea who he was at that time. Wish I could've hooked him up with a beer as I look back on that experience.
I've seen a few bleating about Broc Glover being too 'involved'.
Well, BS to that!
To me, having a bloke that is one of Danny's mates, and a Racing (and Industry) Peer, really, really made it good.
So, to me, it was a Danny Laporte and Broc Glover interview. Perhaps, an idea might be to reverse the positions of these 2 Greats, in another Whiskey Throttle episode, to draw out more of Broc's career, as I felt Broc did for Danny. And, I'm sure we'd get a bit more from Danny.
And, I really enjoyed the looks of delight / wonder I saw on David's face, Ping really seemed to enjoy the whole interview. It sure as hell beats a stone faced, non interested look that so many interviewers have on their fizzogs.
Good one Ping
- now do that 'reverse' thing I suggested with these two.
Am halfway through and beginning to think maybe Ping should've told Danny to stay home so Broc could tell his story for him. Good stories but pretty damn annoying Broc has a bit too much to say should save it for his own interview.

Ping mentioned that Broc will get his own show down the road.

Yes, this was Danny's moment....Broc should have kept that in perspective. A big part of why we love DL is that he is humble and quiet. No exceptions....
OMG ..I love these guys but Glover never let Danny complete a sentence. I got so tired of his interruptions I turned it off half way through. Glover is sharp and would be a great interview by himself but doesn't share so well with others
DL was a very nice guy back in the day. Very humble to of been so successful. Top shelf dude in my opinion.
I've met Danny literally a bunch of times when he worked for FMF what a cool genuine guy always happy smiling you never know he was on top of the world as a moto racer
Danny is quite literally one the of the nicest humans on the planet... nobody who knows him would argue that. Yes, Broc likes to talk and I'm sure that bothered some. But these two guys are buddies and they shared so many experiences together that I think Broc pulled out stories Danny might have otherwise forgotten. Anyway, I'm glad we got Danny's entire story out there, even if Broc was telling some of it. I have so much respect for these two... hope you guys enjoyed it.
And Broc will get his own episode down the road. Thanks for watching/listening.
Never met them, don't know what they are like in person. Just have some fond memories of these two being heroes of mine as a kid (the still are heroes to me).
The friendship between these two is crystal clear. As to the comments about Broc "interrupting".... I saw this as a good friend excited to share his knowledge and history about someone he cares a great deal for. The stories shared were amazing ....by both of them.
How many of us have a friend like Broc who remembers so many details about our lives. How many wish they had a friend like that?
The dog named "Broc" was hilarious.
Ping...as usual....great job, great interview. Thank you...and keep up the great work.
Cool to listen in on the conversation. Broc added so much to Danny’s story and it was a treat to see them laugh / recollect. Love that Danny competed (at a high level) in so many disciplines.

It reaches very close to me, my childhood, culture and connects so many dots. Far reaching and instructive.
I never knew Laporte that well. So good.
Thank you so much Ping, Broc and Danny & all others involved.
