The chicks getting paid one penny is a frickin disgrace when you think about how much it costs the racer to put on the real show.

I'm more puzzled at why you were thinking about monster girls in the bathroom at work. On second thought, I'd rather not want to know why.

Dianna Dahlgren started as a model, became a fitness/bikini model & contest competitor, became a Monster girl and has been very successful marketing her beauty, fitness...and her ass into a very lucrative brand. That brand has allowed her to have her own website with t-shirts, calendars, socks, and all sorts of swag...and she seems to have done quite well financially as a result. I saw somewhere else that she was a part owner in a restaurant in SoCal. She might not make diddly from Feld or Monster...but she's doing ok.

A lot of threads taking bizarre turns around here now.

Did the weird drugs crowd finally show up or something?Woohoo

Should they be getting paid as apposed to paying the riders more is my question?
Is porn really that hard for people to find that we need them?

The monster girls, although I'm sure they're nice, make us look a step below Monster trucks, and professional wrestling as far as being a family, and classy sport.

Just my opinion.

Spokane is a decent size town. not sure what lured her to there, maybe friends or family or something. that street has a lot of exposure and airways heights mx track is about 20 minutes away but im sure that's not about this. Spokane is washingtons 2 nd largest city art 208,000 people and close to 300000 including the suburbs close to the mountains too

I'm good friends with the people responsible for booking the models at 2 of the 3 major energy drinks. Also, while working at a beverage company myself (non energy drink) a few years back I had to coordinate activations and events at retailer and special events across the country and we used many of the SX/MX regulars.

Trust me these girls wouldn't get out of bed to fart for $100/day. The top tier girls get to travel to all the races and get travel/food expenses, their promo rate as well as the potential to earn secondary $ at nightclub events during the same weekend as the races, ESPECIALLY at vegas races/events - aka "atmosphere models" lol. Any of you guys follow these girls on Instagram and see fancy dinners and nightclub pics? Yeah they're getting paid. Plus there is quite a pecking order amongst the girls, with some being more established and popular and probably getting paid more as such. Also remember the big three energy drink companies are involved in multiple sports - surfing, snow, off road racing, professional bull riding, music festivals so these girls can stay busy. Most of them do parlay the exposure to other gigs as spokesmodels for other non-competing brands like clothing companies, tire manufacturers., etc. The established girls make decent money, probably in the $50-60k range per year would be my guess if they are busy and hustle. Although the exception is Diana, I have heard some figures regarding her that blew my mind. That ass has brought her some GOOD fortune Silly
A few years back I coordinated a few local retailtainment events for a company I worked for and one of our local beverage reps brought some "spokesmodels" to the event. He said they billed the girls' time without markup to us, and it was $150 each for 5 hours, so about $30 per hour for a fairly small local event. Does that number still sound accurate for the "non-regular" locals hired for most events?

Spokompton! Not as bad a place as it seems. I always dread going there, but once I'm there I usually enjoy myself. Especially since they've cleaned up the Riverfront Park area so much over the last decade or so.

Yea so bottom line is the monster girls make more than half the field in sx. The guys that finish 11th to 20th . Iol, mini dads, take this into consideration. Sad, very sad!

My wife and I were wondering if that is where her boyfriend is from. I know most don't know much about Spokane, but it is a place that gets 4 awesome seasons.. There is a lot of outdoor things you can do in either direction with hot summers and cold winters. It is a great place to live if you like warm summers on the lake/river and cold winters with mountains which I believe Dianna does. From an Instagram post today it sounds like she still has an apartment in CA so Spokane is probably just her long term residence. (at a guess).

So the consensus is... Don't race sx/mx professionally. Just pretty up your daughter and save your cash. But seriously they need to start paying these guys some more money. If I was a privateer I wouldn't even wast my time.

I get what you're saying about the privateer part. But they are, which is probably why its not changing.

Monster Girls r a big part of the show, as are Rockstar....help bring the main demographic in, testosterone laced bike junkies.

Went 2 a pit party in TO once, super fun. Girls did a great job, as did Erin Bates (she works hard).

I think they help make moto. Haven't seen my fav. Ashley Sarto lately, drinking a Monster right now in her honour.

Modeling is probably like any entertainment, including MX. Big stars, and then not much trickle down $ after that. Good marketing opportunity though.

As far as making money in this sport, I don't want to hear the whining. They just had a race that any person could enter and race and have the shot at $1M, and winning the overall event paid $100K. If I were good enough of a rider, I could have qualified and had a shot at it. Arena Cross evidently pays pretty well if you are good enough - Bowers seems to be doing well enough to keep him out of Supercross. And no one can tell me that they don't have the money to make enough money to have a bike competitive enough for Arena Cross. If people don't like how the industry is set up, create a business model and a business plan and go make it work on your own. That desire, passion, and creativity is what made this country what it is. But for goodness sake, stop whining about it.

Not anyone can enter the MEC. It is by invitation only. So no, you couldn't have entered if you were good enough and have a shot at the $1M.

Some wanted to start their own AX series if you remember from a few years back. The BooKoo Arenacross series competed with the AMA series. It failed. Easier said than done on making your own series and creating a "business model". It's a lot more than that.

I've got the chance to race both of those series and personally bookoo series was a lot more fun and different than the typical ama arenacross series. I hated to see it go

Agreed. If I had an employee that didn't like their situation (or I found myself in a situation at work or in life that I didn't like), I would always tell them they had three options:

1. Suck it up, accept it, and get on with the job.
2. Do something about changing it.
3. Remove yourself i.e. quit, resign, retire, get another job etc.

None of the above including bitching about what's wrong and why they are hard done by.

Even back in the mid 90's, my then fiance (now wife) made great money (for back then) just working the trade show booths at the major Vegas expo's (Comdex, etc.).

They would pay for airfare, hotel, food, and around $300+ per day for a 3 day minimum gig- just handing out freebies or trying to get people to stop at a booth in some big convention center.

Great thing was her grandparents lived in Vegas, so we would just drive the 5 hours and stay at their place (usually while they were away for months at a time) and pocket all the travel/ food expense money.

So she would work all day, and I got to play all day (a few weekends a year). Then we got married, and now I work all day and she gets the "easy" part (other than the 3 kids)....

No way the Monster girls are working for minimum wage, and I don't doubt that once expenses are factored in they make more than the true privateer rider.

But everyone makes a choice in what career decisions they make, and what you are paid is relative to what you are "worth" to your employer. Sad for our sport, but true.
