Less than a year ago Alta made history with an Endurocross podium, my how time flies.

The Sur Ron Booom Bee is to be released soon, their 1st full size bike in MX and Dual Sport versions. It looks like EICMA show for the debut.

I’ve seen bits and pieces of Musquin riding around on an electric KTM, yet I can’t seem to find any information on if it’s available to buy.. I want one to just mess around on. Seems fun, easy, and nobody will know you’re out there.

I'm looking forward to new electric dirtbikes hitting the market, because then people will realize how truly ahead of the times Alta Motors was...

The Sun-Ron "Boom Bee" will only produce a maximum of about 28-30hp, which means it wont even compare to a 2017 Alta Redshift MX that outputs a max 42hp. Its basically going to perform like a crf230 trail bike.

It looks like fun, but likely not a real race bike?

Don't let the wheelie boys see this. No bike is safe.

It's too soon to know those details with certainty. The Alta MCO's stated 20kw also, but ran much better than that, that is possibly the rating for consistent rather than peak power.. Torque vs. HP etc., let's see how it runs, but I don't expect it to be Alta fast or 230f slow. I haven't seen any 230's tripling jumps or burning rubber on the street.
We'll see where it fits in the market, I stumbled across it because I'm thinking about one of the lighter models, and was surprised not only to find a full size coming, but lite models with Rox Shox forks etc sold out.

They do the same thing with cars, making them look too futuristic.

I think the biggest problem these companies have with making an electric bike is customer confidence. I just don't know a lot a people that will spend 10 G on an unproven machine and or from companies that most likely will be gone in a few years and you will have a 10G pile of junk.

I like the idea, slap a battery in and run the shit out of it. I imagine the motor will last forever so up keep should be low and simple.

Either that test rider is 4'10" tall, or that is a BIG motorcycle.

I'd estimate the price closer to $6k, probably 2 for $10k.

This company is trying to do it with a totally different business model, low production costs, no race team or distribution network, start with a cheaper model that can sell in greater volume to sustain the company, etc.
