How does a rim bend like that, lose spokes? That crash was insane, hope he’s ok for next week.

Kinda looks like the wheel was coming apart before the actual crash. Spokes into the fork/caliper causing the wheel to tuck? Freak accident

Doubt it. He got his weight too low in the corner. Pushed the front end then knifed it into the face. Didn’t have anything to do with a failing wheel by the looks of it.

Very similar to the crash Sexton had last year while he was leading. Washed the front coming out of the corner then got tossed over the jump onto his shoulder.

The wheel didn’t fold bc of the rut. It failed as he knifed the front end bc of washout going up the steep face of the jump. Inertia.

Why would that cause the wheel to bend though? It’s not like he landed a triple with the wheel turned. Hondas knifing in is definitely a thing though even without breaking wheels at least for us mere mortals.

Did the wheel fold cause the crash? Hopefully he’s not hurt and can line up next week!👍

He pushed the front wheel sideways into the face of a steep jump. Wheels aren’t designed to have forces like that applied to the side.

What brand wheels and spokes does Team HRC use?
Branded as the wheels that “fold like a tent in a hurricane”.

The wheel bent because the fork hit the steering stoppers right as the wheel would have been rolling up the face. Crazy how fast that all happened. Hope he is able to line up in Dallas if it is safe for him to.

It was difficult to see from the short reply clip and camera angle, but did Jason Anderson jump over Chase as he tried to get up on his knees??

Wow, so his wheel broke in the rut to cause the high side?

No.

The wheel bent because wheels aren't built to handle force that was put on it after the slide happened.

Slide.

Tuck.

Sudden stop as wheel caught on the top of the lip.

Barrel roll city.

Hopefully he's alright.

When in doubt gas it out…
Except when washing into a steep jump face!

Hope Chase is alright. That was a hard hit to the head.

Wheel was the weakest link compared to it or the forks bending.
