Before Sirius satalite radio and ipods. There were two radio stations out here that I thought were pretty cool for their time. Used to listen to them every time before we went riding.

100.3 Pirate Radio - lot of big hair bands but still had some good stuff
http://loudcity.com/stations/pirate-radio-100-3fm-kqlz-los-angeles-ca/f…

105.5 KNAC "The Knack"
http://www.knac.com/

KNAC was definitely the hardest of the two

KROQ still has it's moments and there is another station 98.7 that is decent.

You nailed it bro. KNAC all the way! Still listen to KROQ when drive anywhere north of where I'm at now. There is a pretty good SD station 105.3 that I can get down here in OC. I live in the Bermuda Triangle of radio. Sad

I drive down to Elsinore / Temecula about twice a month and get to listen to 105.3 and 91X for a little bit. And there is a station out of San Berdoo - 103.9 that reminds me of KNAC a little.

103.3 is similar to 105.3 and 103.9, it's out of Temecula. KNAC was a good station, not a powerful signal though.

Click on that link and you can flashback and listen to their broadcast as it was back then. I think it's just the music though.

I grew up in Long Beach so I know this sticker well! I think I even helped pass a few out before a Scorpions/Iron Maiden concert at the LB arena... or it could have been the red windowpane...

Knac was as hard as it could get.
Kmet sponsored Supercross in LA so I always liked them too.

Ha, I think I still have some Pirate Pig stickers somewhere. I know there's one on my first wakeboard from back in the day.

When I was a kid I could sit on my roof in Redding with a small radio and pick up 690 from down there. They were transmitting some power!
