I suspect that Jeff was tormented by his peers in school over his stuttering. I would just love to see the shocked expressions on their faces if they tune into Fox Sports 1 and see him announcing on a major TV network.

I have been a big fan of Jeff since the start of his career and I am very impressed with the transformation. Congratulations to Jeff on his great success both on the track and in the booth !!

Yep, he does good. And for the fashion conscious ones around here, he's also the best dressed one in the booth....

That was really brave of Jeff to be a part of episode 3 of Behind the Dream and really shows his dedication to his craft. It's a struggle to get my wife to watch races with me anymore, but she has watched all 3 of the Behind the Dream shows and found them really intriguing.

Emig must say 'Ryan Villopoto' in the mirror about a thousand times a day.

He still dresses like he is young, single, and wealthy for sure and loves those high-end watches. He looks like he just takes good care of himself too which isn't always the case for retired champs.

I think he does a great job and it's even more impressive knowing what he's overcome. We're lucky to still have him involved in our sport. And Behind the Dream is a very cool show.

Fro does a great job, IMO. He far surpasses Ralph, RC and anybody else that's been in the announcers box over the last several years. And, from the last riding vid I saw him in...he still gets around a track pretty damn fast. Class act.

I agree. He has really done an awesome job this year, and I think he and Weege do a great job calling the outdoors as well. Hopefully he is there to stay.

Haven't seen a lot if races the last couple of years, but I've always thought Jeff was the best. I like Windham too, but he's not a regular. RC just isn't polished enough to be an announcer, jmho. Saw Weege a couple of times too, he works well announcing. No doubt announcing sports, action on the fly, requires a gift that Jeff has. The fact he overcame stuttering is even more impressive, but maybe plain old aging has helped too. Perhaps a little less of an excitable personality.

I've seen a couple of guys post that they like the pair announcing the Canadian Nationals, I find the one to so tucking incredibly annoying I have turn the sound down. That would be the one that I was friends with in the early 90''s, rode a million motos with, smoked dope with (did I just say that? Lol) parked at Walton for a week with thought he was a great guy. Didn't see him for a few years, hear his voice on the tube and laughed, "Wow, figures he'd talk himself into that gig". Then see him again at Walton and he's gone completely Hollywood, big time tv star who doesn't have the time of day for me, blew me off like he didn't even know me. Trust me, you meet me, let alone hang with me for years, you don't forget me. No one ELSE ever has. No, it's not the guy called "Travs".

I had to take speech therapy back in elementary school back in the stone ages lol, they would come pull you out of class and i would get so embarrassed. For Fro to end up in the booth is inspiring. Speech Therapists should tell his story to their students.

Not to mention was one of the last champions that lived as hard as he rode. Party hard and celebrate like a star lol. I enjoy his commentary and thought he did a great job at the MXDN when he carried the broadcast when Ralph was not there.

I like Jeff in the booth...and as much as it pains me, even Ralph is growing on me a bit...a teeny tiny bit. Smile

I think the dynamic of Emig and MC in the booth is cool...just knowing how hard they battled each other for almost their entire careers...having all that history together...and then sitting side by side calling the races is just really cool. And even better is that I can tell there is a mutual respect between the two (I can't really say the same for RC and Emig...).

I think RC and Emig have a mutual respect but it's more of a poke and jab at each other kind of respect. The only time I can't really tell about their intentions is when they play the polling questions. If you watch, RC and Emig kinda try to sway the polls. But it seems like Ralph always kinda interjects with RC and Emig is forced to withdraw from the banter because there are too many people talking. The look on Emig's face looks like he is about ready to take a swing at both of them.

I disagree. He doesn't have a sweet monster pin on his blazer. Wink

When I see Ricky's get up every time, ZZ Tops "Sharp Dressed Man" blasts loudly in my mind for 18 seconds.

Fro is the man and I respect him that much more after his part on Behind the Dream. It takes balls to come out and talk about an impairment like that or any for that matter even though most already knew of it. Ralph is like that one friend that ruins conversations with terrible jokes but everyone still enjoys their company. Weege brings excitement to the outdoors aswell.

I think he has defiantly beaten his demons.
Every one loves a underdog story.
From stuttering kid on the podium to worlds best SX TV presenter.

In my opinion, he brings a lot to the booth! I was too young to even notice his speech issues back in the day, so I had no idea until the latest Behind the Dream episode, I was very impressed!

Befroe I watched Ep 3, I thought Fro improved significantly. After watching Ep 3, there is no other ambassador I would want promoting our sport. Emig is the real deal.

love him.

kind of prefer him with MC as 3rd mic too.

it's kind of like if magic johnson and larry bird were commenting together. Both see unique things and their rivalry during their racing days lends a very fun feel to it for people who have watched the sport for some time.

Fro Daddy does it right. I also like Ralphie for his excitement...not saying he's a moto expert but he's been at it long enough to get ramped up when the circumstances warrant. I really appreciate Ricky in the booth cause he KNOWS what's what...he some times has to be politically correct cause he's a team owner which mackes him sound a bit wobbly but we are lucky to have such a legend so accessible. JM does a good job as well. I wouldn't mind seeing Hannah in there just once...might be a hoot or total cluster...but I bet it wouldn't be dull. Weinert can rattle off some stuff...I've been told...lol.

I've been critical of Emig's announcing in the past but sitting behind the keyboard makes it easy
to do so sometimes, which I'm ashamed to say. The little I've learned about him though makes me
really admire the hard work he has had to put in to overcome the simple things that we've been given
and take for granted. He truly looks to be a valued spokesperson for the sport and a good role model
for many that know him.
