Junk. That thing weighs twice as much as the original SX-R. Which was already a cow compared to other stand ups. This is more like a seadoo 3D, not a true stand up jet ski. Not to mention the price.

it also has double the horsepower, which the old sxr had more than the superjet anyway,

be interested to ride one, to see how they go, i think they would be very different from the old sxr, tho,

Yeah once I saw the photos I have to agree. Wish it was leaner looking. KTM should build a standup.

Well you want weight when racing in heavy conditions, there is a reason the Superjet's are like seeing a Honda at a GNCC.

Depending on the class you run. I always ran stock class, my SXR had 850 piston's in it, and ran with the best of the boats at the world finals this year, ridden by the woman I sold it to.

The 08+ SuperJet is better, but doesnt have a damn thing on the SXR.

HAve y'all ridden the hydrospace? Talking bout a flat turning machine! They dont like being leaned at all..

The hydrospace still leans better then the octane haha. My friend has 3 octanes varying from mild to wild, they make power but man do they turn like shit.

I had my SXR under 300lbs with fuel, but it involved ALOT of grinding and ALOT of money and ALOT of time.

This new Kawi looks like it will be a great bouy chaser, but will be useless for anything else.

When it comes to racing this thing is good

But judging by the manufactures of freestyle and Freeride hulls and parts for Freeride that is the bigger market

Superjet is more geared to Freeride but can do both so it's going to remain king still

The last generation superjet was created for chasing bouys, and they are such turds out of the box they are allowed to run an aftermarket exhaust in stock class.

I bet I won't. I could go get a 3D for a lot less than 10k. Kawasaki openly said at the world finals intro that this ski is geared more towards the beginner rider just getting into the sport. Sounds like the 3D to me. I'd be a buyer if it could flatwater flip in stock trim Cool

THANK YOU...

X1000

Here is a clip when we had a badass course at 3 palms. My SXR would carve (especially when it was flat out). This was like my 5th moto so dont judge my endurance, or crash lol

Yea sponsons for better steering but you can throw foot hold on it and jump in the ocean and huck a backflip.

Doubt this thing will do that

In terms of racing this is the better machine. But the markets smaller

Sorry but I can already stand on my SXR idling and barely have to balance. this might be okay for 200+ lb people that have a hard time riding older stand ups. But it isn't for me. It's a cruise ship. Might as well just ride a runabout.

I Love the last Gen SXR800, this newer model is going to be nothing but an improvement for those racing buoy's. No questions asked.

I'll just stick with the classics.

I've been eyeing a 2008 SXR 800 that's near me. Seller wants $4600, it's bone stock and in nice shape, regular scratches but nothing bad. I haven't had a ski since my 1996 SXI. Cant seem to get rid of the bug. Tempted to make an offer, it's winter here now so time to buy.

I would never take a sxr to oceanside wave riding. Like being on a boat
I guess you are scared to actually have enough power to make it over the crest of the wave?

Thank you! I love my Freak. It's nice in the summer to switch it up to the water.

What kind of power are they getting out of those Dasa 850cc and 1000cc's?

I keep seeing a "600+ thrust" number but this obviously must be a measurement of jet thrust?

Yall people have no clue bout racing or riding buoys. I have had few racers ride with me and say how much harder this is than moto

I have a PHP 898CC It was put on a dyno by they engine builder out of WI and it was pushing around 200hp and in my carbon hull it is freaky fast. It's great cross training if you ride freestyle or if you are buoy racing. KR rides stand ups to train to mix it up.

It's true. I'm not particularly good on my buddies sxr800. But holy hell its a workout trying to run the bouys. It's a workout on my waveblaster but not like the sxr.

Everyone is up in arms about the sxr vs superjet thing. It's simple

Bouys= sxr
Surf/free ride= superjet or aftermarket hull

And I've had a world champion jet ski racer who couldn't ride a off-road bike more than 100 feet without crashing.Tongue It's all different and difficult when you first start out. On another note, I'll be the guinea pig sometime next month. Setting up a project that involves teaching a moto person (me) how to ride a stand up (the new SX-R)... I'm bring a few dry helmets, as many times as I'll be going under.

In the stank dog 726 vids from this past summer he tried a stand up and didn't get very far.
