James gets the bright pretty red seat? Is there a difference other than color?

maybe just look preference, not sure, but it could be related to the fact that it looks like Metcalfe is still Rockstar sponsored so maybe the yellow and black to stay with those colors?

Because it matches the red plates he's going to be running all season

Initially this puzzled me too. But if you look at a few pics of Metty, he has pressed in grip lines (if that makes sense?) so he can't have his seatcover made from multiple pieces of material.

I can see the classic red/ blue Yosh/ suzuki graphics making a comeback soon. Give the suzuki a new look and JS's Red Bull helmet would look pretty good with it all..

me and my buddy were wondering the same thing too, but we thought the red seat was the ugly one and the black looked better.

Stewart's has the multi-piece cover too. Try again...

Clearly its because Stewarts seat is a custom one off piece made specially to suit his style and ergo preference, same as his JGR tank, Metcalfe was not given the option and is stuck with the ugly black cover. I'm calling it as a BS move that bubba is getting preferential treatment already.

Either that or they only had to one red seat, either or.

I don't think red and yellow go that well together. They should be black and yellow with a bit of white. Maybe with a red "Suzuki S."

I am pretty sure Metcalfe ran the red cover in supercross. Maybe they just ran out, or maybe they did it to make it easier to see who's who.

Really, seat color.... really. At any rate I was happy to see Metty do well at Hangtown, hoping he can put it on the box soon, regardless of seat color.

Better yet, why is Metty running Pro Tapers while Stewart has Renthals? Don't believe I've ever seen handlebar sponsors mixed on a major factory team.

ANother that was different was the front number plates on both the bikes. They both had the plastic that prevents the brake line from getting beind the number plate on both sides of the plate. I don't have a pic but it looks old school like 70sish.

Yeah, I guess those bikes do look pretty sweet, but I really like the plain and simple look of the '04 US Factory bikes.

I'd like to see them go back to the old yellow/blue colorway. The 1990 bikes were sick! So simple, so perfect. If you changed anything, I'd make the baby blue shadow on the "RM" red.

*stupid picture won't embed! Ahhhhhh!!!!

It's just the top piece off another plate cut off and riveted on.
