Tony I remember looking at that photo. I used to stare at it admiring those factory hondas. How about Jimmy Gaddis nearly pulling the holie on his zook

Holland was a great starter once he got on a CR125R.
Is that Ricky Ryan on the #10? Hollands style was silky smooth and I'm not ashamed to say I loved that TX10 gear that Honda put out. The AXO versions along with the Sinisolo stuff were the shit in my opinion

Did he win two 125 titles? Just a little before my time. Did his style not translate to the 250? You never hear much about him or many 125 riders in general from that era. Seems like it was all about RJ back then

GH is one cool dude.

Interviewed him a few months back for WATN, and he could not have been more humble and easy going. He just walked away from moto at the end of 1989, all done. No questions asked. Didnt even look for a 1990 contract.

And the best part? He was all good with walking away. No failed come backs and no regrets.

He got his championship, made some money, and was all good to walk away.

Today? He is raising his family and has a boatload of people working for him (80+) on his farm in the central valley.

He is one cool dude...

Interesting. How old was he when he retired?

Funny thing is that is Mike Jones with the yellow goggles just over Holland's head. Good stuff.

I want to say late 20's, he was smart, didn't beat up his body too bad.

He may be forgotten in the moto industry but he's not to worried about it with how much success he's had post moto career. And with harvest happening this month and next he's probably smiling from ear to ear right now. He actually pretty much controls the almond trade here in central California (Kerman).

I really wish he would come ride with the OTHG Valley Chapter. I'd love to meet him in person. A true central california legend! Most of my riding buddies seem to know him or at least have met him but not me. I eat enough almonds that I probably bought him his latest truck (or at least a large part of it). I also eat a lot of everything but almonds are a staple for me.
