Holy Shnikeys..... I like them both!! That Chevelle is rank. Needs tubs and mickeys though..... seems to be a weee bit high on horsepower to traction ratio. haha

Im surprised how close the motor mounts and everything is on that 360. Shouldnt take too much fabbing and tig welding to get that thing in there.

alittle history . in 1986, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd become part-owner in Öhlins. as everyone knows yamaha only had the yz490 to race in open class . yamaha had Ohlins make a 360 big bore kit that would fit the 89 yz250 . noleen racing was the importer for the big bore kit. the plan was to have a lighter bike then the cr and kx 500's . the yz handled better but the cr and kx still made more HP but the 360 would turn better and hang with the bigger bikes.

So, I'm guessing you will have to relocate the motor mounts slightly by the pictures.

LOVE the way this bike is turning out!

And I have a soft spot in my heart for 71/72 Chevelles as well. I learned to drive in my moms 71 Malibu 350.

Meh. If the chassis is set up right, small tires can work well. I've seen guys run high 8s on 10 inch slicks, and judging by the launch picture the OP has his car set up just fine.

yes had to lower and move the bottom mount back . the front had to be lowered and moved forwared . the swing arm bushings in the engine had to be be opened up to fit the larger swingarm bolt .

Agreed. It is amazing what the street tire class cars can run for times, well into the 8s for sure. But... its still kind of like saying... 125 is just as good as a 250..... lol That Chevelle has some stones thats for sure. Big ole' roots type superchargers sound so sweet. One day.... one day.... lol
