Got the swingarm for the 76 CR125 project bike today finally. The original is a stamped steel monstrosity with a solid steel bushing through the pivot point, steel chain guide, steel brake stay arm, solid steel axle and bushings and weighs an absolute ton. New one is aluminum, redesigned pivot bearings, hollow axle, aluminum and nylon chain guide, alloy brake stay arm, aluminum axle spacers and adjusters. I'll compare weight of all of it along with pics of the boat anchor it's replacing. The stock shocks were also steel bodied (12 lbs per pair) and I'm working on some all aluminum air shocks for it that weigh about 5 lbs. per pair. Got a slab of lightweight seat foam and a plastic base with aluminum brackets to replace the steel seat and heavy foam. Should save a chunk there. Only problem now is my 135 pound wonder boy who I was planning on being the hired gun hops a bus to the Marines in a month....bummer.

This is a pretty cool idea, make a faster vintage bike by going light everywhere. Im digging that swingarm, pretty trick. Cant wait for finished or near finished pics.

Who made the swingarm?

Wheres your boy going for basic training?
