Ambulance chasers. The US is filled with them. Looking for a buck off other people's "misfortune" because in their world accidents don't happen...they can always be prevented. You know, because we can all see into the future.

Once you accept the $5,000, aren't you absolving the AMA ( or Feld, whoever paid) from any future responsibility?

I have no direct knowledge, but I’d imagine so...I would think the 5k was their way of buying their way out as cheaply as possible and putting it to bed.

I don’t like 99% of lawsuits, but I’d have to say that if this happened to me, I’d be suing. Far, far more than 5k in damage to many bikes, not to mention riders. Normally I don’t approve of lawsuits in MX because many of them were for injuries sustained due to risks the rider knew (or should’ve known) going in. This was different . Those riders and teams had no way of knowing what they were getting into.

I am sure Feld has insurance. They are probably trying to do it without filing a claim. I got to think bike repair and medical costs for caustic burns cost more than $5K.

Seems weird they’d pay for a sponsored ad when they could just look at the entry list and message the people that might’ve been directly affected.
