I've always wondered where guys who build "factory replicas" (like a guy here has done with a Honda 250) get their old factory parts? I mean...this guy and others come up with factory magnesium clutch covers, forks, hubs, triple clamps, axles, tanks, and lots of unobtanium stuff.

Are there companies here and overseas that specialize in getting that stuff and making it available to whoever can afford it?

Stuff is floating around. I got a set of ex JGR JS7 forks for example by keeping an eye on eBay. Things pop up every now and then.

eBay, and for sale forum. Know what to search for, search every day, and be ready. I know the Honda guys have a website that collects a lot of factory parts. Doc wob on eBay gets a lot of stuff too.

Kyb 2 piece star shock (not as rare as everyone makes them out to be) eBay doc wob

Kyb billet wide fork lugs and axle. Vitalmx

Jgr Yamaha adjustable linkage with holeshot device and brake pedal with titanium pivot and tip. They sold a very limited amount of these but I believe this one came off an actual team bike) vitalmx

Doesn’t the billet lug and 2-piece shock club feel great? 🤘

Did yours require a special axle or use oem Yami?

I think there is a big advantage if you live in California.

Mine has longer steel axle with wider shoulder and a female thread instead of a male thread. I got lucky and got it with the lugs. From what I’ve heard from others the axle is harder to get than the lugs and more expensive than what I paid for the set.
