I'm sorry, the costs are a little bit high.. But it's a beauty worth the money!
Around 1500 euros.
But when you think about the money you spend at a woman, this is nothing Whistling

Can you make some detail photos of the radiatorbraces and tank? I want to do a conversion like your bike myself. The difference is that I want to make the tank and airbox from carbon fibre using the lost foam method. I would really appreciate it Smile

I've thought about why Yamaha would charge that much for an outdated bike and the only thing I could come up with, is they don't want it to compete with the over priced 4 stroke line.

If they were to drop the price to what they should and make enough volume for the current demand, it would kill the 4-stroke sales.

We can't have that now, can we...........Wink
It could have something to do with inflation and increased shipping prices on not only on the finished product but also on the raw materials they buy, plus a possible rise in prices on those raw materials in general. The fairly recent increase in minimum wage generally means higher prices for the consumer as well. Not saying that they couldn't lower the prices while still making a profit, but I think there's a little more to it than simply assigning arbitrary prices to their bikes. Although their limited production is could be for the reason you stated, and when you don't make that many and sell all of them, it makes lowering prices seem like throwing away extra profits. Regardless, I think the manufactureres are going to have to come out with something different, decent, and cheap if they want to keep the market alive. At the current rate, it won't be long before dirtbikes have a $10K + price tag on them. That is absolutely insane for something that you're going to beat the crap out of in the dirt and not make any money on it. Especially considering their low resale value and how quickly that value drops over the span of only a couple years. I'd be cool with them offering a base model 250 with steel bars, ditch the titanium shock springs and pegs and go back to steel, standad brake rotors, and anything else they could do to keep it cheaper but still have a good product to take out on the track.

Pretty sweet dude. What part of NL are you from? I was born in Friesland before my family immigrated to the US.

I live in Oldebroek, a little village near Zwolle. Friesland has some nice tracks (Marum, Joure for example)
Where did you live?
Very small town called Rijs. It's in the Gaasterland-Sloten area. I never got to check out any moto in NL, but honestly I'm a horrible sand rider, so it probably wouldn't work out well for me either way, hah

Hey Erick,
I have a sponsorship with v/d Laar. I have permission to share pics and promote the kit, but I don't think I could put up some too detailed pics.
But you could check it in real life at de ONK MX3.
First race in Lochem (7 march).
See you!

the thing i will say about the dutch and belgians,
is that the average rider, and the quality of riding at practice tracks,
is on a whole new level compared anywhere else that ive been.
nice bike by the way.

Bike looks good with the upgraded plastic! IMO yamaha would make a killing if they did that and added black excels to the 2012 2 stroke!
