I think it's the pull coming out of corners and there are more than just a couple of those on the track.

They have a better spread and stronger low end and part throttle response.

Peak isn’t everything. Pulling hard, earlier and harder out of corners is huge, doing that and having the same peak, which ones a better engine?

The other brands are mid-top focused where as the Yamaha has a much stronger roll on and low end.

But j mart is at a big disadvantage. His bike is alot slower than the star bike . The oem Yamaha might not be the highest hp. But that doesn't mean it s overall design is nt better for making hp .

IMHO I don’t see it. If you go back & look at some of the starts of this mx season. You will see JM6 or another Geico Honda at the start. Even on the straights you don’t really see the Star bikes pulling the Geico bikes. Or any other top tier manufacturer bike for that matter.
How about we take Jmarts word and other top pros word in this eh? A few of those guys have actually ridden the Yamaha vs the bike they ride currently.

Despite what others think. The Yamaha isn’t an mini 450 at the pro level. The mid and top end power are where it shines. The difference is that you can’t feel the torque it has at the bottom end because the mid is so strong.

I just don’t see where it is a superior bike. Even the Zuk that is outdated seems to be able to hold its own in the 250 class. They all appear to be very good at the top level.
